Hobart House Rental Photos and Description
2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4
Armytage House is a large sandstone and brick barn built in the 1830's now renovated to luxurious accommodation. This historic building made of hand made bricks and sandstone once held grain for a thriving agricultural venture by George Armytage in Tasmania's colonial past.
There are 2 bedrooms, one on the ground floor the other on a mezzanine level overlooking the living area. A fully equipped kitchen, with German appliances, large spa bath, walk in shower and underfloor heating combine modern additions with unique colonial architecture.
Armytage House is fully self contained and private, set in large secluded gardens with a small dam and creek. A covered outdoor area includes a large fire place, brick oven and BBQ facilities. The perfect place for relaxing in front of the open fire after a day exploring the region.
In the immediate area are wineries, artisan food producers, and weekly produce and bric-a-brac markets. The area is also home to a thriving antique sales community in the nearby towns of Richmond and New Norfolk. Scenic and quiet rural drives access some of the most important and interesting colonial architecture in the southern hemisphere while enjoying wonderful local scenery.
Or one can simply do nothing and relax in luxury and peace-be renewed!
