What a great place with even better views. The setting and accommodations made for one of the best family getaways in recent memory, and the price was more than reasonable. Fished with Jim one day, and the day on the Holy Water was definitely a highlight, landed a super thick 20" Bow on a size 20 emerger tied to 7X. In addition, the provided lunch was gourmet (no exaggeration); Jim can cook, to put it mildly. My only suggestions are as follows: couch is a B-/C+ in terms of comfort and subsequent travelers would be well served by bringing their own knives, as the house knives are dull and difficult to use when preparing meals. Regardless, the Ranch House is a great place to stay, relax and fish.

Fishing Paradise!

  • 5 of 5
We had a guys trip for my dad this last week. All 7 of us (ages 21 to 67)had a blast and the lodge was the perfect set up. Clean, comfortable, tons of room, and the view was amazing. We fished, did some hiking, never even thought about turning on the TV, and went to "Texas Reds" in Red River for an awesome steak. Speaking of fishing, Van Beacham's "Solitary Angler" were the best guides. Van along with John and David taught us how, very extremely patient and kept us laughing with great stories. We didn't have a clue what were doing and between the 7 of us we caught over 120 fish. It was an awesome trip and we can't wait to do it again.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5
Short easy drive to the Angel Fire ski resort. Beautiful home and beautiful scenery. Took a long walk out toward to dam and found bear tracks in the snow. If you are looking to get away from it all you can do that here. When we came they allowed pets but I notice now they do not. That is sad .. I guess we wont be staying again. Had planned on making it a yearly adventure.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5
Very clean and well maintained - highly recommended. Will probably book it again for a family reunion in the future. Enjoyed the area (Cimarron to Angel Fire and Taos), even though some businesses were closed during the "off season". Fly fishing paradise for those of you into the sport (although we did not fish on our trip). Enjoyed several fine meals at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron (unbelievable historic site with bullet holes in the ceiling and 26 people killed during the Old West heyday). Great bronzes and historic items on the walls.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5
We rented this home for a guys weekend and it was exactly as I had hoped; easy check-in instructions, well-kept, plenty of room, beautiful setting and scenery. We had fun hiking the property and the wilderness areas in the Cimarron Canyon. I will definitely rent it again if I ever return to the area, which I hope to do!
