Photos and Description of the Interlochen vacation house rental
3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 6

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is allowed outside only. The house is not handicapped accessible.

The cottage is secluded and quiet, and the property is wooded. Nearby water recreation includes swimming, snorkeling, fishing, water skiing, and canoeing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing, and hunting.

Green Lake covers 2063 acres and has a water depth of 102 feet. Fish include rainbow and brown trout, large- and small-mouth bass, perch, and pike.

Summer in Northern Michigan? Well, what can we say? Warm weather and lake breezes bless our homes. Enjoy dazzling sunsets from the living room or deck. Swim, boat or fish from the docks. Soak up the sun and swim in the clean water of the lakes.

You’re never far from a great restaurant. Try our local fare: Sunday Brunch or the Monday Night T-Bone Special at the Hofbrau in Interlochen. Treat yourself to fine dining at one of the country French restaurants in Leelanau County. Wherever you go, be sure to try to great local whitefish, lake perch or walleye.

It’s a short drive to Leelanau County or the Old Mission peninsula where you can take a tasting tour to try the fine wines now produced in the area. Our personal favorite is Larry Mawby’s Vineyard just south of Suttons Bay. Larry makes beautiful sparkling wines that rival any from California or France, and he’s working towards being certified as an organic vineyard. (Don’t forget your designated driver for the day!)

Our annual anniversary getaway

5 of 5

My wife and I have been going to this cottage for the past three years for our anniversary and it has always been a marvelous experience. The owner is very lovely and accommodating, the cottage is super comfy, and the lake makes for some superb sunsets.

Heading to Green Lake from the big city is almost a spiritual experience - the hustle and bustle falls away and suddenly all you hear is the rustle of leaves, the lapping of waves on the shore, and the hush of nightfall. We wouldn't miss it for the world.

Owner's Response: I love having Ed & Brooke come back each year. They bring lovely scented candles and leave champagne corks on the counter. It's a perfect place for a private, romantic weekend!

Relaxing summer!

5 of 5
Submitted: March 28, 2011 Stayed: June 2010
We spent most of the summer of 2010 here at Becky's cottage on Green Lake and loved it! Quiet and relaxing. Since it is up on a hill overlooking the Lake, it was nice and breezy most of the time and never too hot! No A/C needed. The cottage is very nicely appointed, all the kitchen items you could ever need. We brought our small dog and had no problems. Very close to Interlochen Arts Academy, you could even bike there. Nice sandwich shop (Buds) and ice cream shop close by too. The highlight for us, was the fishing! Tons of Largemouth bass in Green Lake. We will definitely return if our son attends Interlochen camp again. Property very clean and well maintained. Owner super helpful, easy to reach, and just plain nice folks!

Make Some Real Memories at Lady of the Lakes

5 of 5
Submitted: February 11, 2011 Stayed: October 2008
An important aspect of renting a home away from home is finding owners who are easy to communicate with, and considerate. This is true of this property which we rented a few times during the spring and fall, while our youngest attended Interlochen Arts Academy.
The neighborhood is especially nice and quiet. The car parks near to the cottage for easy access. It sits up on a hill overlooking Green Lake. It is very easy to feel comfortable out of doors as well as in. The feeling is expansive because of the hill, trees, lake, and windows all along the lake side of the house (the photos don't do it justice). At the same time it is cozy and friendly because the cottage is not huge and fussy. Our family and friends all felt close, warm, and comfortable in the clean, tastefully furnished Lady of the Lakes. We usually had 4-5 family members staying the whole time with 4-5 friends just visiting or spending a night
We have some wonderful memories from this place. Our grandson remembers looking for artifacts and collecting rocks; his mother still talks about the kitchen where she made special dishes or baked cookies; I have a photo of my husband and I sitting out on the deck relaxing after busy times at the Academy; we played games at the kitchen table just like home; I loved sitting on the back steps catching up with our youngest who we missed so. She says one of the best memories of her life is the moonlight row boat ride she had with her friends.
You have to remember you are at a warm cedar wood cottage on Green Lake in Northern MI....It's not supposed to be the DoubleTree. Enjoy the surroundings and each other....make some real memories at Lady of the Lakes.
