Carmel Valley Get Away
Fun, comfortable, clean and at times quirky house. We stayed with two other couples over New Years 2012, and plenty of room for all of us. The owners have made their own mark with a lot of creativity throughout, quaint paintings on the kitchen cabinets for example, a loft filled with toys and stuffed animals, a fun tea alcove, wall stenciling etc. This house feels like a doll house and the outlet for a creative person and a lifetime of collectables, lovingly decorated and cared for. We had a blast playing poker at the poker table, which is connected to the kitchen and family room. It was also decorated for Christmas! The kitchen is adequate but small, any more than two people and it becomes a squeeze. Otherwise, the kitchen got us through dinners and breakfasts, adjacent was an eat in which made group gatherings easy and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and updated, carpet also nice in the bedrooms, paint is very good throughout. One bedroom is the passthrough to the master so it did not work as an optional bedroom in our case, but may work for close family or children. There are three bathrooms, but only two have showers, in our scenario two couples had to share/coordinate one shower. The internet connection was reliable and fast and the heating system warmed up quickly and kept us toasty. We will start recounting all our 2012 New Years stories by saying..."Do you remember that house we stayed at in Carmel Valley....?"
