Beautiful beachfront luxury condo , very comfortable and loved the decoration, excellent beach, walking distance to restaurants. Maid service , air conditioning. I'm definitely going back!!!!
We have rented more than 25 villas, houses and condos from Homeaway and VRBO in Europe and the Caribbean. We travel a lot. I love to cook, so I always look for a well equipped kitchen when I rent. This is the first review I have written that was less than 5 stars.
The villa is beautifully furnished and looks just like it does in the photos. The devil is in the details. The first and most important thing you need to know is that about 1/3 of this development is under construction. There was no mention of that in the description and there should be. Construction crews were on site directly across from the porch and that was our view and our background noise during breakfast and lunch. Reading and relaxing on the porch were pretty much out of the question. Other negatives: an entrance guard who spoke not a word of English, and when we first arrived, spent 15 minutes just looking at us and shaking his head--he wasn't going to let us in. Finally he opened the gate--I'm not sure why (every guest we met while we were there was English speaking, so this is very puzzling); the bathroom was beautiful, the bathroom towels were full of holes; the kitchen was sadly lacking in basic cooking amenities--a 4 cup Mr. Coffee for a three bedroom condo, pretty glassware that didn't fit in the dishwasher (had to be hand washed), no ice cube trays, no vegetable peeler, no salt and pepper, barely enough dishes and flatware to get 4 people through one meal, so dishes had to be done three times a day (and the maid did not come in daily, I think we saw her 5 times in 10 days). If you don't cook, none of that would matter to you, but it mattered to us.
The pool was very nice. The big deck just above the beach had tables, chairs and loungers and was a wonderful place to read or watch the sunset and have a glass of wine. It was also far enough from the construction that you heard the surf instead of hammering.
One day this will be a lovely condominium community. And with a little attention to detail, this unit could be wonderful.
We enjoyed our stay at Hispaniola Beach...the beach was quiet and sandy and we spent a lot of time in the water boogie boarding and snorkeling. I would recommend a flotation device to get to the reef off the beach but it is easily gotten too. The grounds were well kept and felt very safe. The condo was nice, roomy and comfortable with a few quirks. Our hot water heater went out on Thursday and they never really got it fixed before we left even though we contacted the management on-site and the owner. Also, there is not daily maid service, we had service twice during our 8 day stay...condo was very clean when we arrived, not sure we needed daily service, but it was advertised and then did not occur. If you want a quiet beach house to enjoy relaxing this is a nice place.
Very comfortable and private this was propably my 20 something to
This small town on the north coast and I would stay there again the first floor was was nice cool pool attentive staff I would stay there again
From the time i arrived at the condo it was plain to see that this was gonna be a my sanctuary for the next four days. The condo was exactly what Tim said it was and more. The property was spectacular from room to room. The beach was absolutely a private sanctuary. It was incredible. The staff took care of our needs daily without delay or hesitation. We enjoyed the nightlife and restaurants in the area. The best part of our trip was having Leandro our taxi driver. What a great guy he is. He was available to take us where ever we needed to go and always on time. I would recommend his services. Tim what you have here is priceless. To anyone looking for a great place to vacation you found it...be back soon.
This was a trip for 3 buddies. We considered a lot of rentals before settling on this one. It's always nice when the actual experience meets your expectations. In this case, I would say our experience exceeded our expectations.
The photos and written description of this newly-built 3-bedroom condo were very accurate. The unit was luxurious, professionally decorated, spotless, well-equipped, and located right on the beach.
The master bedroom was huge and had a private glamour bathroom. This is where I stayed. My two buddies stayed in the other two bedrooms, which were both comfortably sized with a very nice private bathroom in each. The secondary bedrooms in this condo are better than the master bedrooms in other units I've stayed in. All three bedrooms had a comfortable mattress and a flat screen TV.
Usually my friends and I "fight" over who stays in the master bedroom when we travel together, but no fighting on this trip. We each happily settled into our room without issue.
The rest of the condo was also great. The floor plan was such that the kitchen, living room, and dining room opened to one another. We spent a lot of time in this area. It was a working vacation for each of us. There was plenty of space for us to spread out around the dining table and breakfast bar. All the space! The photos just don't do it justice.
We cooked only a couple meals. Everything we needed was found in the well-equipped kitchen. No cheap appliances or utensils here.
The furnishings throughout the condo were very nice. It would take me forever to comment on everything, so I wont. But one thing I noticed was the plush towels.
There is a huge covered terrace with access from both the living area and the master bedroom. The views were awesome. We could see the ocean and there was always a nice breeze. We spent a fair amount of time out there too.
There was a laundry room with a washer/dryer. We didn't use it because we packed so many clothes, but we will know better next time. There was a powder room located conveniently near the front door.
The walk to the beautiful private beach took less than 2 minutes. Approaching the beach was a deck with trees that offered shade from the direct sun. Adjacent to the beach was an beautiful swimming pool and two Jacuzzi tubes.
The only thing we didn't like was the long distance from the parking area to the front door. But we got used to it after a couple days.
Lastly, Tim and the staff we great.
The condo itself is very modern and comfortable. The complex is well maintained. The infinity pool & semi-private beach was the icing on the cake.
Tim, the owner, is great. We were staying at his other place at Hispaniola Villa and just happened to bump into him one morning. We were leaving Sosua for Santo Domingo the next day and he told us if we didn't like Santo Domingo, that he would offer us to stay at his beach condo, Hispaniola Beach. Sure enough, Santo Domingo was not our cup of tea and Tim held true to his word. We were back in Sosua the next day and enjoying the calm, relaxing beach life once again.
I definitely recommend staying at either one of Tim's properties, but Hispaniola Beach should be your first option! Thanks Tim and we will be back sooner than later!
