Great little place right on the beach!
When we travel with little ones, we try to pick someplace not too fancy and with easy access to a beach or pool/hot tub. This place covered those requirements and more, plus was affordable for a holiday weekend! Get ready to be truly "un-plugged" (no wifi/cell srvc/landline)
I had initially booked this place for just my husband and I and our 2 young children, then some family members ended up joining us so grand total was 5 adults, 2 kids & 2 dogs! We lucked out with SUN, which made the deck and yard a great extension of living space. The beach was short jaunt through the dune grass, and was quiet, almost deserted every day we were there. This area of beach prohibits driving from April 15th-Labor Day so we never had to worry about cars with the kids/dogs. The sand was fine/soft and my kids loved finding WHOLE sand dollars and flying kites every day.
The cabin is pretty much on a dead end so traffic and noise is minimal. The photos don't show the hot tub on the deck of the cabin, which was hot and ready to go when we arrived. Cabin was neat and clean upon arrival. It's thoughtfully equipped with everything you need and more! Washer and dryer with soap and dryer sheets was SO nice, who doesn't want to go home with no dirty clothes/towels to pack?? There is no TV in living area, which worked for us. 1 bedroom has TV/VHS and other has TV/DVD (LOTS of movies) so kids could get cozy on a bed and settle down in the evenings while adults chat without interruption. Bedroom dressers contained games, paint for shells/rocks, books, etc.
There were beach toys (inflatable tube, skim board, buckets/shovel), plenty of kitchen amenities (coffee maker, toaster, spices, coffee &, filters, salt&pepper, cooking pans, etc), & hose on front porch for rinsing sandy feet and sandy pups. The owner-provided dog beds were great,my sisters beagles actually liked them! We would put them on the deck during the day so pups could lounge in the sun then pulled them in at night.
We brought our own food and cooked/BBQ'd every meal, ate outside most of the time and one night had s'mores on the beach.
The only time we noticed the "cozy-ness" of the cabin was taking turns with the bathroom. Also the pull down stairs to loft are creaky if you have to get up in the night.
We took one day trip to Ocean Shores and Seabrook and we were all glad that we were staying in Moclips because THIS place is the authentic family beach vacation spot!
Owner was a pleasure to work with, hope to return again.
