Our house is a well restored typical old Languedoc farmhouse with wooden beams and stone walls, it offers spacious, tasteful and comfortable furniture and a full equipped kitchen. It has 5 bed rooms for up to 9 people, 3 bathrooms, a spacious living room with dining area – and a well protected, paved yard (155 m² living space). The large swimming pool lies within a 600 m² Mediterranean garden with olive trees and cypresses. It is an ideal place for families with children. The house is set in an exceptional, unspoilt landscape in the middle of vineyards and forest, at the base of the Hortus cliffs. The south-east exposure is overlooking the coastal plain. There are extensive walking, biking and climbing possibilities. Easy to reach is tennis, horse riding, gliding filed, mountain-climbing, river canoeing and speleology etc. The shops, super-market, services and a couple of restaurants in the village of St. Mathieu are 7 km away. Well protected from the northerly ‘Mistral’-winds, Mas Labau is embedded in a most beautiful Mediterranean landscape setting, just below the limestone cliffs of the ‘Hortus’-mountains, a nature preserve, covered with the stone-oak and pine forest and the local Garrigue-vegetation. Access from the next village is provided by a small road that winds up-hill through vineyards, patches of beach-pine forest, olive plantations and ends below the old, hamlet-like buildings. In just 2 minutes walking distance one enters the forest where one can walk for hours, climb the peaks of Hortus or the neighbouring Pic St. Loup or explore the underground caves. Though secluded in its natural setting the lively village of St. Mathieu (7 km) provides all basic services: shops, super-market, doctors, a couple of restaurants. Within 25 min drive one reaches the Herault valley, an opportunity to swim and to hire a canoe.

Additional information about rental rates

  • During July and August prices are for the use of the entire house with its 5 bed rooms, 3 bath rooms and a 30 m² living room. Garden and pool are for the exclusive use through the tenants. Pool open from 1st of Mai to 30th of September. On special request it can be opened already in April (€ 25 /week of service charge for cleaning). During off-season (September to June) above mentioned prices cover the use of 3 bed rooms, 1 bath room, the living room and garden. Prices increase by 10 - 15% for the use of the entire house (5 bed rooms and 3 bath rooms = nine persons).
  • Prices include one set of bed linen per person and weekly cleaning of the swimming pool during the period July to August. There is a fee of € 70 for the final cleaning of the house. During off-season (September to June) bed linen can be brought or provided against a fee. Costs incurring for consumption of electric power and gas have to be covered by the tenant.
  • Deposit of 30% of the total rental rate is due at booking. Full amount has to be settled four weeks prior to arrival. A deposit of € 1500 (in cash or cheque) is charged upon arrival and handed back at departure. Minimum stay = 1 week, from Saturday afternoon to Saturday morning.

Notes: You enter the house through the main entrance from the north side into the big dining room with wood beam ceiling, large fireplace with traditional cevenole chimney. To the left, the dining area with a massive oak table accommodating 10 persons and the door to the big kitchen and further on to the upper bathroom. The sitting area with TV, video, CD-player has a door to the bedroom ‘chambre pêche’ and to the an attractive staircase leading to the upper ‘chambre terrace’ with one single bed and a beautiful panoramic view and down, to the bedroom ‘chambre bleu’ with two single beds and his built-in oak wardrobe. The staircase further down leads to the paved courtyard with its two separate bedrooms, the ‘chambre jaune’ (double) with en-suite shower-room and washing machine and to the ‘chambre de la cour’ (twin) and its originally vaulted en-suite bathroom.

Platz in wunderbarer ruhiger Lage.
Besonders erwähnenswert ist der schöne Pool mit
einer traumhaften Aussicht!
Das Vermieterehepaar ist ausnehmend nett,unkompliziert

Idyllisch gelegenes, sehr gepflegtes und auf hohem Niveau ausgestattetes Domizil in herrlicher Landschaft mit toller Außenanlage und sagenhaftem Pool!
