Lovely Home Away From Home
Property boasts surprisingly large shaded lot including everything advertised. Home has open floor plan with a lot of windows. Our two 10-year-old's shared the smaller bedroom (cable tv/dvd player), we used the master which has bay windows facing the lake and attached full bath, laundry room and walk-in/storage closet. Kids had their own separate bathroom. Our adult girls shared the pullout sofa in the living room. There is an extra third room (technically can't be called a bedroom) that the kids used to watch television (yes another cable tv), play domino's, etc. Many lamps, fans, lots of seating. I loved the fully-stocked kitchen (no need to pack a thing except food). All place-settings, bowls, mugs, pitcher, mixer, pots/pans, cookie sheets, skillet, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, stove, large freezer, 3 smaller refrigerators, table linens, zip lock baggies, aluminum foil...it was all there...even a few staples like flour, baking powder, vanilla extract, etc.
Our kids had many activities available to them. They loved the provided paddle boards, croquet, card games, and campfires. When those city boys were tired they retreated back to their bedroom to play on their iPods. We grilled on the deck most nights, and sipped coffee on the swing in the morning. Our dogs (2) had a blast. Great for our Labrador who likes to swim. We launched our boat (19ft) on the opposite end of the lake one day (a little shallow for launching but we managed). Also launched at nearby Elk Lake (Whitewater Twp Park's launch) and cruised through Torch, Clam, Skegemog, and Bellaire. 5 Min from Elk Rapids - spent a day perusing the quaint shops and looking for Petosky Stones on the lake (large playground there for little ones). Quick 20 min drive to Traverse City for great shopping and dining.
All in all - wouldn't change a thing. Owner's (lovely by the way) met us there to give us the whole tour. They are very thoughtful and their goal was to make us feel at home. We had a great vacation at this property. Would recommend to anyone.
