I wanted to stay another week!

The home was very clean, comfortable and had great amenities like WiFi, washer/ dryer combo, full kitchen, dishwasher, cable tv, and clean linens, just as advertised. Very comfortable accommodations, Great for families with children. Nice neighborhood, very close to metro and local bus stops which bring you close to all the national museums and monuments. The owner was very hospitable and accommodating. I was so comfortable there, I wanted to stay for another week!! I would definitely stay there again on my next trip back to D.C..

Perfect spot for family of 4 on July 4th weekend

My family (kids 6 and 10) really enjoyed our stay on Rhode Island Ave. The home is modern, clean and very comfortable. The house is an easy 5 minute walk to the Shaw Howard Metro in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. There are many close restaurants, bars and grocery stores within a short walk of this home. If you prefer not to walk, a Metro bus picks directly across the street with direct routes (G2 and G8) into the heart of DC. The owner of the home is very accessible and responded within minutes to any requests or questions we had. We were in Washington during a brutally hot week in early July and loved the ice cold air conditioning. I can't think of anything negative in terms of our stay, I would strongly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay in Washington.

As I tell most guests, during the summer months it's very hot so drink the bottled water left at the house for guests and wear comfortable shoes if planning on checking out the sights. A great place to be to visit downtown Washington

We are very pleased to have stayed by Colin's house for a week with our 4 kids. It is well furnished, practical, close to city center (national mall) where we went walking (30 to 40 min with kids but it is a way to visit the city). Else the subway is around 8 to 10 min walk and the bus N70 is direct to National Mall area. Supermarkets are also nearby.
Colin gave us good information and ideas to visit the town.
We just rate 4 and not 5 because of traffic noise on Rhode Island. If you are sensitive to noise, better to sleep backwards.

Owner's Response: Rhode Island Ave is a main artery and thus well trafficked, guests that are lite sleepers should chose the back bedroom but that room gets all the sun.

My stay on Rhode Island Avenue

I enjoyed staying in a residential neighborhood. I could really see how the citizens lived. The apartment was well represented in the photos. Having the washer/dryer was very convenient. The unit was meticulous and centrally located. The bus stop was on the same block. Colin was exceptional and accommodated any requests.

This was my first experience with HomeAway. I wanted to have the feeling of living in an apartment and not a hotel. I was not disappointed. I would recommend this website and I will use it again myself, Cheryl.

Very comfortable stay in a convenient location

I stayed at this location for a weekend in June. It is few blocks from the metro and walking distance from the U street area. Very clean and well kept rooms with nice modern furniture, comfortable bed and a beautiful kitchen. Taste of classy and city living with a very reasonable rate. The owner was also very helpful.
