NO EVENT PARTIES
Just 15 km or 20 mins by taxi from Airport. Transport is virtually at your doorstep; to take you anyway you wish, fast and easily by Taxi, Ferry, Water Taxi, Bus, or an easy bike ride. Buses run every 15 mins. Ferries run every 20 mins to Darling Harbour & City (Circular Quay/Opera House, & North Sydney. Water taxi service also available. Close attractions include: Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Casino, Aquarium, Chinatown, Fish Markets, Barangaroo, Cruise Terminal, Balmain Village atmosphere. A brisk walk to the Ferry Wharf would take you just 9 minutes, while a walk to the nearest bus stop would take 2 minutes.
A 12 minute direct ferry ride to the City takes you past two of Australia’s and the World's most recognized icons. Under The Sydney Harbor Bridge and right past The Opera House. From the Opera House you can take a spectacularly scenic walk along Sydney Harbour or through The Royal Botanic Gardens.
The studio faces due East allowing you to enjoy the morning sun and a folding arm awning to control the sun on those hot summer days. Are you ready?

Converted from garage to studio just recently with polished concrete floor it is completely self-contained, with washing machine, 2 induction cooktops, fridge size to suit the apartment , crockery and cutlery. It sleeps two comfortably in a new fold away memory foam queen sized bed. You choose if you prefer it left out or fold it back to the wall during your stay. It is always in the down position for your arrival, ready and made in case you wish to sleep. (Everyone leaves it down). Lots of room either way. Quality white cotton linens (flannel for winter) and towels are hotel standard and it is so comfortable with great City and Harbour views from the bed or from the patio bifold doors. The doors have reflective film on them, just like City High Rise offices, so that during the day no one can see in but you can see out. At night though, if you wish to maintain privacy we advise clients to draw the blinds when the lights are switched on. Two large custom made cupboards allow ample space for you to unpack your things and stow your bags out of sight and out of the way behind the floor to ceiling curtains. The open WC, hand basin and shower are all high quality fittings mounted on classic white Italian mosaics.
Set in one of the world’s most beautiful cities we are located very close to The Sydney Opera House, The Harbour Bridge, TheAnzac Bridge, Darling Harbour, and Sydney’s CBD. All in fact visible from the house. Balmain has an enviable lifestyle due to its location on Sydney Harbour.
Formally a waterfront working man’s suburb with traditional Victorian Terrace houses and cottages and proximity to the City. It also boasts some of Sydney’s finest views.
This architecturally designed and decorated one bed studio apartment sits at the back of a fabulous Victorian Terrace house and though often rented to clients who rent the house itself, it is also sometimes available on a stand alone basis with common entry and garden. It is set up similarly to places I have enjoyed in other parts of the world such as France and Italy and is clearly inspired by those experiences.
Restaurants, cafes, providores and bars, elegant architecture, boutique fashion and home wares abound in this suburb all within very easy walking distance so popular with visitors and celebrities alike.

8 of us stayed in this beautiful house and studio for a week over New Years Eve. The house was very clean and comfortable with amazing views from the balconies and the roof top terrace. On NYE we watched the early fireworks from the rooftop terrace. Later some of us walked down to the waters edge (about 10 mins) for a great view of the midnight fireworks. We bought Opal cards and used the nearby Balmain East ferry to get around Sydney quickly and cheaply. Much more enjoyable than driving! The Balmain shopping centre is about a 15 min walk away and has a Woolworths, shops and some great cafes and restaurants. There are 2 hotels nearby, an excellent Italian restaurant, Capello Pizzeria, and a fabulous cafe called Euforia where we sometimes stopped for breakfast on the way to the ferry. Sydney is hilly and Balmain seems to have more than it's share but we rarely used our cars. Communication with the owners was excellent and they were very helpful both before and after we arrived.

This delightful studio is located in the area of Balmain … with easy access to numerous cafes/restaurants ... a great vibe … relaxing atmosphere after a busy, sightseeing day etc. It is located on a quiet street with a lovely view of the harbour. We understood that some of the cruise ships dock nearby, but it was such a surprise to walk out the door & observe one -- practically a stone's throw away -- as we never heard them arrive or leave.
The studio, itself, is very comfortable, feels spacious, with plenty of closet space, full kitchen, and many extra little details that I have sometimes found missing, in other places, such as beach towels, umbrella, dryer rack. And speaking of attention to detail …. The patio doors extend the length of one wall, opening to the garden area. This provided a wonderful breeze, when needed, as well as a delightful spot to sit/relax. The provision of awnings shielded you from the heat/sun. We never felt the need for aircon. Lyn & Giacomo are exceptional hosts. Easy going, accommodating, helpful & wonderful to chat with … they provided us with many tips to enhance our vacation experience … Great people! Added info … we were determined to do without a car & stayed for about 10 days so picked up an Opal card. Great way to get around! Good for buses, trains, & ferries … everything in pretty easy access from the studio. Last but not least … did I mention the fabulous fig tree right outside your door? Fresh figs --- every morning -- boy, do I miss that! We hope to return!!
This perfect space has every thing you could possibly need, the location is the best, no traffic noise, super easy access to all transport and right on the door step of quirky Balmain with its array of cafes and shops. Spectacular views of the harbour with the night lights of the city top it off!. Lyn is so easy and accommodating, certainly providing a very comfortable homely atmosphere that fosters "I never want to leave" feeling. Thank you both so much for providing excellent accommodation. I am sure this is only the first of many.
The first time we stayed in the Bar Plus studio apartment was two years ago, and we thought, "We have just can't believe our good fortune!" Here we are in our own cozy apartment with all the amenities one could want: great bed, fine linens, ample storage space for clothes and shoes, and even a place to stow luggage out of sight. Then you realize why "Plus" is in the name. In addition to the first class lodging, there is a private terrace overlooking a beautifully maintained walled garden, where you can snip fresh lettuce and herbs from the garden, plus pick ripe figs growing outside the door. We had lunch and sipped wine here frequently over our four week stay. Plus, the view is fantastic! You are looking directly at the Sydney skyline, but have none of the downtown noise and crowding.
The ferry stop is a short walk, and the ride only 10 minutes from Circular Quay. Bus service is another easy option. The studio apartment is also a prime spot to observe fireworks. If you are lucky enough to be here at New Years, the fireworks over the Harbour Bridge are in view, and the Darling Harbour fireworks are visible very weekend. Plus, you get to watch the cruise ships silently slip in and out of White Bay. It is hard to believe that these behemoths appear in the early morning without making a sound, and depart just as you are enjoying cocktails on your terrace. How civilized is that!
Your hosts, Lyn and Giacomo, are possibly the nicest people you will ever meet. Although they are not always in residence, it is a definite "Plus" when they are. As guests, we enjoyed the benefit of their attention to detail......Spode China for morning tea, beach towels to take to Bondi, useful tourist and travel information mapped out in a visitors notebook. Giacomo even provides written and pictorial information to direct the taxi driver from the airport! Giacomo was "born to run" a VRBO, and Lyn's clever designs and thoughtful touches are ever-present.
This property is an A-1, five star, top of the list place to stay in Sydney, but the Latellas are the reason you will return again and again.

Village of Balmain has everything you need and has a beautiful vibe. Great cafes, London Hotel Pub and lots of shopping. Grab an OPAL card and use the ferry system - the best way to see Sydney is from the harbour.
10min ferry to Circle Quay, from there visit Opera House, CBD, Manly Beach and Taronga Zoo ( best zoo I have seen). Breath taking views of the opera house from the water. Lynn and Giacomo run a class act.
They also have a full house for rent for families.
We loved the location. 10 min walk to the ferry. So pleasant to see Sydney via the ferries.
Studio and especially the need is very comfortable.
We are coming back to stay again in January.

What a fantastic place to be when visiting Sydney! We loved our stay in Balmain East at Giacomo and Lyn's darling studio apartment! They have two full houses side by side in front of the studio that they rent also so it is perfect for family vacatons or events. The place is gated and locked and in a very upscale nice neighborhood. You can walk (as we did) or ride the bus down to the ferry that takes you to circular quay where the Opera house is and all other ferrys to beaches, zoo, etc. are. The views are great and they are situated right next to the cruise ship dock at White Bay. We were shouting back and forth to them on their roof top terrace from the top deck of the Holland America ship we boarded after spending five days at the studio. We would stay there again in a hot minute !
The property is well located to take advantage of the many city tourist facilities with bus, ferry, bicycle and taxi transportation within easy reach.
