Welcome to Casa Isabella, the last 'shack' on Shacks Beach. This recently renovated home is divided into three units: two first floor apartments each with two bedrooms, one bath, fully equipped kitchen, and living room; and one large second floor apartment. The top apartment is a beautiful one bedroom apartment complete with a gourmet kitchen, large living area with a pullout queen sofabed, private balcony overlooking shacks beach, master bedroom with a king bed, master bathroom complete with a freestanding tub and double vanity, and a half bathroom adjacent to the kitchen.
Exterior living spaces include a covered living room and dinning area. Outdoor amenities include a salt water pool, large deck overlooking shacks beach, gated parking, covered BBQ are, gazebo with king size lounger.
The photos of this place do not do it justice- it must be seen to be believed! Troy has a beautiful beachfront offering with some of the most beautiful views I saw on the entire island. The accommodations are clean and exactly what we wanted in a tropical oasis. Two couples shared the space and we had a wonderful time. There was a very helpful binder of local information on places to eat and visit. I personally recommend Ola Lola's (you have to pass it to get to Casa Isabella) and the Breakfast Club also located in the same space. Make sure to walk to the beach and head left to the oceanfront bar at Villa Montana too! We did experience one small hiccup with the stove at the property but don't be afraid- one phone call had it fixed almost immediately. As a hospitality professional myself I understand that things happen, but Troy responded in such a quick and friendly way that I knew he was a real pro at taking care of his guests. Is there anything I didn't like about this place? Not until I got home- and realized that I was back to the grind. I *WILL* be going back to island time and when I do you can be assured that I can be found in the cabana on the beautiful pool deck at Casa Isabella!
We stayed on the top floor of Casa Isabella December 2013 for 1 week during the Christmas Holiday. It was an absolutely perfect getaway for our family of 4. This was our first time staying in a privately owned home, rather than a hotel, and I now can't imagine staying anywhere else on Shacks Beach. We love Shacks beach as a central location to all of the many surf spots. My husband and son went surfing every morning. I ran on the beach many mornings, or my younger son and I would walk and enjoy breakfast at The Eclipse restaurant at Villa Montana Resort, a few steps away from the house. The house has a beautiful pool and sunning deck that has sun all day long. The views are magnificent, the kitchen is big, well stocked and beautifully renovated for those who would want to stay in and cook some or all meals. We chose to go out a lot, but it was still nice having the option. The upstairs has a king bed in the bedroom that was to die for comfortable! The living room has a large king-sized day bed as well, where our 2 boys slept, and it was very comfortable for them too. The furnishings both indoor and outdoor were perfectly rustic, comfortable and clean. The views from the very private top deck, as well as the shared sunning/pool area, were beautiful.
The only negative to the top floor unit is that there is no stand up shower. There is a beautiful stand alone bath tub with a hand held shower head. It was really not a big deal, but with 4 of us "showering" with a hand held, it just took a big longer than normal....we quickly adjusted, as those kinds of things are really not a big deal when surrounded by such beauty! Who knows, maybe they will add a proper shower head for the next time we go back, because we most definitely will be returning to Casa Isabella!
This property sits directly on the ocean and has a sweeping view of the beautiful aqua blue waters of the Atlantic. It is clean, safe and reasonably priced. While its not appointed like Four Seasons luxury resort, its a perfect setting for real people who want a real vacation...as opposed to some artificial lazy river at a Disney property. We surfed, stand-up paddled, ran, walked the beach, golfed and bought live lobster twice from a fisherman who moors his launch out front. My family and I have now stayed there two years in a row. Although I don't kite surf, the kiters were jamming every afternoon right out front of the property.
