Our 2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath Duplex in a gated property comes fully equipped with all the amenities to relax in comfort on short or extended stays. Property manager on premises.

Conveniently located 15 minutes to Manor Park for all your shopping and immediate needs. Proximity to Liguanea and New Kingston, for restaurants, nightlife and local attractions such as the Bob Marley Museum and Devon House.

We have direct access to the scenic overland Junction route for trips to Port Antonio, Oracabessa, Ocho Rios, MoBay and Negril. For overland travel to or from Kingston, guests can take the 'Knutsford Express', a reliable, luxury bus serving Kingston, Jamaica's North coast, South coast and Negril (876-960-5499 or 876-971-1822). Our driver Rohan (876-858-7646) is also available with advance notice for airport pick ups and drop offs ($30 each way), local transportation and customized day trips.

Rental includes basic house-keeping, linens and towels, wireless internet and cable.

Myself and my family recently stayed at this apartment for 1 month from July 18-August 18, 2014 and I can truly say that it was money poorly wasted. Firstly, the owners are extremely intrusive and during their 1 week stay on the property they constantly called on the phone and knocked on the front door. The AC that is listed as an amenity is not! We were asked several times to turn it off because of the high electricity costs in Jamaica. The owner needs to make this clear to prospective renters as it caused a headache while we were there. Jamaica was experiencing a drought while during our visit and everyday was at least 38 degrees. If you think that you are getting unlimited AC use, look somewhere else but the homeowners do nothing but complain about the costs of running the unit which is something that I don't particularly care to know about after paying a lot of money to rent the place for the month. As well "the cleaning schedule" was very unaccommodating and intrusive of our personal space. We had several issues with the property such as a leaking toilet in the master bathroom that constantly overflowed when it was flushed. The toilet in the powder room downstairs leaked raw sewage which had to be fixed by a plumber after days of not being able to handle the stench. The furniture that is shown in the owners add does not match what is actually in the home. There is one main sofa and cheap wicker chairs in the living room. The satellite/cable tv only worked about 50% of the time. As well, the property is not fully gated and anyone walking up the hill can easily walk around the property and have access freely. The setup of the property completely defeats the point of the security system which by the way doesn't work either. We had an issue on the property and were forced to contact King Alarm who never showed up because the alarm buttons throughout the house were all broken. The furniture is all very old and worn and the master bedroom wooden bed post was so corroded that it broken on the second night there. To put the icing on the cake, the refundable deposit which was to be returned within 7 days of our departure has yet to be applied and it has been almost 30 days since we left. The owner is still withholding it claiming that she needs it to put towards the electricity bill as she cannot afford it. If you are looking for peace and serenity, look elsewhere. The views are not worth the headache and potentially losing your deposit.

Owner's Response: We find it sad and unfortunate that after considerable effort, Susan chose to repay our hospitality with animosity and untruths. We will set the record straight and report the facts accurately and honestly.

Susan's closeout and repair costs for her month-long stay in July and August exceeded a thousand dollars. We respectfully requested a reasonable amount above the security deposit to offset these unusually high expenses. This request caused a vindictive reaction.

Prior to Susan's arrival, we discussed needs, sorted logistics and reviewed house guidelines with a checklist of items including a/c for the master, night-time use only. Susan reassured us she was aware of Jamaica's high electric bills and would be judicious with a/c use. Despite polite reminders, our a/c guidelines were ignored and Susan racked up electric bills near five hundred dollars. Susan's mother graciously offered to offset the extra a/c costs. Upon receipt of the reconciliation, Susan disavowed and reneged on her mother's promise. Had Susan been forthright about 5 people and 24/7 a/c we would have declined as our max occupancy is 4 with a/c in master only.

Susan often commented we were attentive, responsive and she could count on us to handle whatever was needed. We responded to Susan's many calls and texts, handled tasks timely and coordinated service calls efficiently. We don't see how this was misconstrued as intrusive.

Cleaning is baked into the rent and the schedule is planned. Susan consistently tried to over-turn and change the cleaning schedule. We were perplexed by Susan's complaints as our guests LOVE having a free cleaning service while enjoying their Caribbean vacation!

Susan brought a dubious person into our home which culminated in a concerning incident involving the police. Fortunately no harm done but the incident required a security overhaul. King Alarm diagnosed a signaling issue on the panic alarm and promptly fixed it. We requested Susan share in a small portion of this rectification but she refused. We are not a gated community, the apartment is alarmed and the gate stops unwanted traffic.

Our apartment is an eclectic mix of new furniture and family antiques, always evolving. Susan's remarks about "old and worn" are untrue.

The "raw sewage" comment is false. A toilet overflowed once because her son put too much TP in the commode. Another toilet with a minor water leak was quickly fixed.

Fantastic and authentic Jamaican experience!

We stayed here with our kids and absolutely loved the place and the hosts. Minutes from manor park Kingston or a short drive over to Ocho Rios and port Antonio made this the perfect location. The furniture and facilities were new and well maintained. The views of the city day or night was fantastic. You will be hard presses to find a better location for rent this close to the city. The hosts were also very friendly and responsive to our requests. We highly recommend this place.

great vista, old world charm with modern convenien

From our first correspondence to the day we left, we felt very cared-for in this comfortable, secure and airy apartment. The location really worked for us - above the city for views and quiet, but close to local shops that had everything for the nights we stayed in. The bedrooms are stylishly decorated, the appliances are new and in excellent repair. The house is sparklingly clean. Owner Francesca gave us lots of helpful information about transportation, attractions and how to blend is as a 'local.' In short, a great vacation visit.
