Pine Knoll Shores Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)
This lovely property was recently taken over by the daughter of the original owner of 37 years. The original owner was formerly from Connecticut and moved to Pine Knoll Shores in 1977. Her ancestors were landowners in Cherry Point, NC and nearby Beaufort.
Pine Knoll Shores is known as one of the loveliest communities on the Bogue Banks Island which stretches from Fort Macon at east end to Emerald Isle at the west end. We have an extremely well patrolled and safe community.
Our home is well suited for a carefree family vacation. We are child friendly. We have an open level lot with trees and forested areas. You can walk to the beach in less than five minutes or a one minute drive to the gated private parking lot (free parking for our guests) with steps leading up to the 'sittum' where you can sit and eat or have an evening cocktail and a magnificent panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean. (The 'sittum' has an outdoor shower area as well as a Porta-Potty in the parking area.) Another set of steps leads down to the beach and the dunes. If you bring your boat you will have free access privileges from gated private boat launch areas.
We are dog friendly with pets that are well trained and socialized and up to date on shots and flea treatments. Our beach is dog friendly and everyone is requested to please clean up. An additional security deposit of $100.00 PER PET is required and will be fully refunded within 14 business days after a satisfactory post-stay inspection.
DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY OUR WHITE LIVING ROOM FURNITURE! THEY ARE WASHABLE SLIP COVERS AND WE PROVIDE 'THROW' COVERS LOCATED IN THE ROOM IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR PETS OR KIDS (OR ADULTS).
Our living room has a TV, VCR, DVD and a CD stereo player and comfortable seating and wood burning fireplace for cooler months. The room looks out over the deep frontage of the property onto a treed vista.
Our kitchen is very large with full amenities and seating at a solid pine table for up to eight people.
There is an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom with a large shower stall. The bathroom in the main hall has a full bathtub/shower and was recently completely refurbished. A large sofa in the living room could accomodate a child (7th person) at parents discretion. Fresh linens and towels are included in the rental. $100.00 cleaning fee is in addition to the rental fee.

The present owners (daughter of the original owner) are professional designers who have updated the house with new paint, furnishings, bedding, and amenities with much love and hard work. You will find the furnishings an eclectic mix of the contemporary and antique.
Formerly the residence of the owners' mother whom we visited often for the past 37 years. This has always been our family seashore paradise. The ultimate place to chill out, reconnect with family and nature, and just plain decompress. We think you will agree.
Just plain relaxing. While dining, watching birds feed throughout the day at the rear of the property. Visiting the beach especially in mornings and at the end of the day for that wonderful sunset. We have tons of books and videos for your enjoyment on those rainy days. And don't forget the Aquarium and historic Fort Macon. Four screen movie theater just five minutes from the house in Atlantic Beach. The Food Lion supermarket is located in the same complex as the theatre plus 4-5 restaurants and shopping. Morehead City is accessed by the bridge connected to the mainland. As the area has grown up over the years big box stores abound along the highway. The historic town of Beaufort is just 15-20 minutes drive and a fun town to visit and take in the visiting boats docked off of the boardwalk. Many fine restaurants throughout the town as well as shopping. Great for taking the kids after dinner for an ice cream cone.
