Come stay at our "Cottage by the Chapel" in the heart of the historic Fort Grounds neighborhood. Our 1910 home was completely remodeled in 2009 and offers turn-of-the-century charm with the conveniences of a modern home. A great place to relax and watch the world go by.

The cottage is a short three minute walk to City Park and a four minute walk to City Beach on the north shore of beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene. From there, a short stroll along the beach takes you right into downtown with a full range of restaurants, galleries, shopping and entertainment. All of your beach gear is provided - towels, chairs, umbrella, toys, cooler, and a handy cart to haul it all to the beach.

After a day at the beach or on the lake, relax at the cottage on the large covered front porch, complete with padded wicker chairs and a porch swing. Or enjoy the privacy of our fenced patio area with a gas fire pit. For ultimate relaxation, take a long soak in our large claw foot bathtub with a selection of scented bubble baths to choose from.

Our kitchen is fully equipped to prepare your favorite meals, or peruse one of several cookbooks provided for you to try new recipes. We also have extras like a small cappuccino maker and milk shake machine.

The two large upstairs bedrooms are equipped with king size beds, while the downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a full sofa-sleeper downstairs for total sleeping capacity of eight. All beds are fitted with 400-thread count or higher sheets and cotton comforters for luxurious sweet dreams. The downstairs bath has a shower, and the upstairs bath has the claw foot tub.

With approximately 1,900 square feet of living space including a large living room and dining room, and an eat-in kitchen, there is plenty of space for everyone.

The historic Fort Sherman Chapel across the street is available for weddings through the Museum of North Idaho. Our cottage would be an ideal location for your out-of-town wedding guests to stay.

My wife and I have lived in the Coeur d'Alene area for more than 20 years and the Fort Grounds neighborhood has always been a favorite of ours. Its proximity to the lake, downtown, city park and the college set it apart.

The cottage enhanced our stay for our niece's wedding. The six of us--including our 4 adult childen--had everything (and more) we needed. We were so surprised how close the lake was and the terrific historic neighborhood provided scenery for great walks. The owner gave great directions for a trail run on Tubbs HIll that had great views of the lake. The cottage had all the chairs, towels, cooler on wheels and sunscreen for our day at the lake. Our family from Couer d'Alene joined us around the fire pit for a great evening of catching up. Great comfort! Great amenities! Great Location!

Beautiful house!

We had an amazing time at this house. The location is not to be beat. We were in town for a wedding and could walk to and from all of the downtown CDA activities as well as the lake front and the beautiful (and huge) city park. The house itself was very luxurious. There are all sorts of craftsman details that make the house beautiful. The kitchen had anything you'd need and was a joy to cook in. All of the rooms were very comfortable and big! It was HOT when we were in town but each room had it's own air conditioning unit which kept the evenings nice and cool. The owners were exremely prompt in answering any questions and in returning our security deposit. We've already recommended the house to numerous friends. If we have another opportunity to come to CDA we will definitely stay here. We wish we could have stayed longer!!

Absolutely perfect weekend for 6 lady friends. The cottage is amazing old charm but current amenities.
Everything we needed. Loved the sunny patio for breakfast. Located in a fantastic neighborhood. We would recommend this for anyone wanting a relaxing get away in a lovely city.

Wonderful Cottage

The Cottage by the Chapel is a wonderful place to stay. The location was so close to the college and three peaceful, easy blocks to the lake. Our kids walked to the park and expelled a great amount of energy! The home it's self has been completely remodeled and done very well. The first floor bedroom was perfect for my parents who couldn't negotiate the stairs and they could escape the chaos of everything but leave the door open so they could still jump into an activity if they chose. The home was clean and very well equiped with all the cooking gear you could want. The owners were very nice, helpful and provided a very nice book with local places to eat and visit. We loved this place and will be back next year for sure!

A Wonderful Get Away!

This is a wonderful, charming cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It is a beautiful home - elegant, charming, and cozy. After a lot of chaos and last minute changes, on our part, I was really skeptical about going. I am so glad I did. The house worked great for our family. Some highlights - The kitchen was great to cook in - not huge - but so well laid out. The beds were very comfortable - my first straight 7 hours of sleep in months - apparently my 6 month old agreeed!! The huge claw foot tub was marvelous. I managed to sneak 30 minutes to myself each morning and enjoy the blissful soak!

The location was great - walking through the park and downtown, even in the rain, was great. Enjoyed sea salt chocolates from Coeur D'Alene chocolate shop and lunch at the Olympia - delish! Took a quick drive to Spokane and enjoyed a day at the Riverfront Park, which was terrific for me and my 2 small children.

The owners were great to work with. Very helpful and great communication!

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay - we will definitey be returning.
