About The Owner

I have been happily living in this house for the past since I purchased it. It is my home, but given the fact that I travel a lot since my retirement, I have decided to share it with sensitive travelers that would enjoy the same things I do - the peace and quiet, the sun, the outdoor activities and the proximity of a beautiful city such as San Francisco.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

Why The Owner chose Mill Valley

The views and the privacy are spectacular!

What makes this house unique

The house is spacious, modern, light and beautifully furnished. I have a lot of books, music and unusual art, and a very sunny deck where I like to sit and read, take a tub or simply lounge and get a tan. I love to walk to town at sunset for a little shopping, and I love to hike the trails right behind my house where I can enjoy sweeping views of the entire Bay area.

Mill Valley is a quaint little town with good restaurants, 2 Whole Foods markets, a farmer's market on Friday, great shops, theater's and a very convenient gym and health spa facility. It is only 25/30 minutes from downtown San Francisco, close to the beaches and not far from the Napa Valley. The weather is sunnier than in San Francisco, but it rarely gets too hot. My house is in a perfect neighborhood for a woman traveling a lot, and I never have to lock my door when I'm home and feel perfectly safe.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We really enjoyed staying in Eleonora's home! I was so taken by the design and comfort. Everything, from the furniture to the lighting, was so well planned for ease of use. Also, you certainly didn't let us down with your comments concerning the view---it was fantastic! We had a wonderful stay in Mill Valley. Should we need housing again, I won't hesitate to check on availability of Eleonora's house.

Awesome place, great views, great location!

  • 5 of 5
Just spectacular. Beautiful home, perfect size for my wife and I. The views off the deck, both in the day and at night, were amazing. Place had all the necessary stuff you need to be perfectly comfortable. Very clean. Location was awesome. Had to drive up a narrow windy road up the hill, which we loved. Minutes from tonnes of nice restaurants in Mill Valley. Took beautiful walks every night. We centered our vacation around various Marin County outdoor things to do (Muir Woods, Bonita lighthouse, Point Reyes lighthouse, Mt. Tamalpais, Stinson Beach) so this location was absolutely ideal. Would recommend this place in a second.

Great Views, Comfortable Accommodations, Ideal Area

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this home for four nights and loved it. The proximity to the coast, Sonoma, San Francisco and Berkeley was ideal. The house was well equipped, and we loved the outdoor tub and endless deck views of the city. We walked the neighborhood trails and also walked to the shops and restaurants. The house fulfilled our needs and expectations and the booking, arrival and departure process were all easy.

Loved the house! Great weekend

  • 5 of 5
We loved the house - definitely recommend it. Open, bright and great views. The deck was fantastic - big with lounge chairs and also a dining table. We stayed over 4th of July weekend and were able to watch the fireworks in the distance over SF bay - gorgeous. We hung out some in Mill Valley and drove over to Muir Beach - beautiful. The drive to Sonoma was easy too. Great house, great location and very easy/nice people to deal with.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5
This house was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be and a little more. I agree with all of the past reviews. Here are my tips: The kitchen has everything you need to cook, so don't worry about cutting boards/knifes/pans/wine glasses/wine opener/etc. Rent a car! We had debated about renting a car or just using the public transportation - I'm really glad we got a car. We took the bus into San Fran one day (wine tour - didn't want to drive) and it was quite a hassle getting up & down that hill (the wine didn't help). It feels really warm on that deck in the sun, but it will be much cooler when you get into San Fran. The Italian/Sicilian restaurant Gira Polli in Mill Valley is awesome - get the lamb. They do take out & had really good looking rotisserie chickens that we wanted to try, but never got the chance to go back.

I would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

Mid-Century Mill Valley

  • 5 of 5
We have been vacationing in Mill Valley for many years now, and have sampled a few rentals in the area. Never have we had an experience that made us plan the next year's trip even before departing.

You walk into this house, and are immediately at ease. It isn't just Buddha sitting serenely in the garden .... this house is a home .... carefully furnished to a very high standard by someone who cares. The photos with the listing are inaccurate, in that the house is a LOT nicer than the images lead to you expect. It is also a lot more spacious than you expect. My wife and I felt right at home almost immediately, thanks to its mid-century modern feel. It's like living in Dwell magazine.

The first thing you notice is the sunlight, streaming in from all the windows. The second thing you notice is the view. Oh, what a view. We got everything from crystal-clear to a lovely bit of fog that looked like a Japanese woodcut. The furniture is as comfortable as can be, and unlike most vacation rentals, this one had everything .... from an ice cream scoop (whew!) to all the cleaning supplies an OCD person could want. The wi-fi is fast, the laundry means you can pack less.

The art is soothing and lovely, well-chosen to go with the house and the surroundings. The hot tub on the deck really helped this cyclist's legs recover at the end of each day's exertions. I almost hesitate to wax so effusive, for fear it might not be available when we want to return.

This is the first vacation rental I have experienced where there are NO downsides. Even the 5-minute climb by bicycle (loafing, 3 minutes if you're jamming/10-12 minutes on foot, via the trail/stairs) is worth it, such is the view and quality of this home. I would recommend this home to anyone of an athletic bent. The walk up from town is easy, and I found a "flat" cycling route that I have filed away.

The rental process couldn't have been smoother, as well. All in all, I can't recommend this house highly enough.

It's close enough to downtown (less than a mile) that you can hit favorites such as The Depot for coffee, Tony Tutto's for pizza and Toast or Champagne for breakfast/lunch. There is also a vast network of hiking/running trails steps from the front door.

The only caveat I would offer is that this house will make you want to get outside and experience the area, so sedentary folks probably won't be as happy. But athletes and active people will be as delighted as I was. Thanks for a lovely vacation spot.

This rental is much better than the pictures. The views are amazing and the house was spotless. It has a well-thought out floor plan and high-end amenities. We had an amazing stay. Thank you.
