Chalk Sound is an upscale residential area away from the main tourist areas (Grace Bay) and so you decide if and when to hang out in the tourist areas and when to retreat to peace and tranquility. The cottage is spacious, private and fully equipped with all the modern conveniences and comforts of home.

You can sunbathe on the upper balcony or relax on the lower floor patio whilst listening to the soothing sound of the rustling waters.

About Heather

My Husband and I are both natives and residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands and Attorneys by profession. We live a hectic lifestyle and decided to build a getaway cottage on Silly Creek in Chalk Sound, away from our home in the Leeward area of Providenciales. We love entertaining and welcoming people to our shores and since many tourists visit the Chalk Sound area whilst in the Turks and Caicos Islands we recently decided that we could help them enjoy their stay even better by offering this on-island retreat, which is a perfect, secluded, secure, cozy cottage with exquisite views of the magnificent turquoise and azure waters.

Why Heather chose Providenciales - Provo

The beautiful turquoise waters of Chalk Sound and Silly Creek was the number one reason why my Husband and I chose to build this cottage as our second home away from home. However, our hectic schedule would not allow us to enjoy it as much as we would love to so we decided to share our secret with others by putting it on the rental market. We love entertaining and welcoming people to our islands which made this an easy decision for us. We now intend to develop the property further in the future, without losing its unique characteristics charm and its balance with nature.

What makes this cottage unique

This is a spectacular getaway and hideaway, with all of the modern amenities for your enjoyment and pleasure.

Silly Creek, Serious Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We visited Providenciales for our 10 year anniversary and wanted to see all the island had to offer, so we split our 1-week stay into 2 parts: 3 nights at this cottage and 4-nights at a resort on Grace Bay. Although we enjoyed both places, our most memorable moments by far were during our stay at this cottage.

I will limit this review to things that may be helpful to someone who is trying to decide where to book their vacation, as that is the only reason I read these reviews. First off (disclaimer) we are not the party animal type, and this location would not suit one who is. Then again, you probably won't find much partying anywhere in Turks and Caicos, so if that is your thing just go to Aruba instead.

Although we did not do so, we could have easily just spent the entire week here and made a few excursions over to Grace Bay for snorkeling and restaurants. To start with, both Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay are just as good if not better beaches than Grace Bay. More pristine/natural - what is lacking is the crowds and conveniences. You will want to take an umbrella, chairs, and a cooler, all of which are provided by the cottage, and use the restroom before hand. With minimal research you can figure out where to park and access each beaches.

You will need a rental car to stay here. There is simply not much to do within walking distance of the cottage. You do not have a "real" beach to walk out onto like at Grace Bay. However...

With that said, our favorite activity was simply exploring the Silly Cay area with the kayak and spending time on and around the various private "pocket" beaches. We even found some good snorkeling around the rocks near some of these beaches. And beautiful sunsets each night on the balcony overlooking the water, followed with quiet evenings under the starts (bring bug spray).

I could see how a resort or even an all-inclusive on Grace Bay would appeal more to those bringing children or for people with mobility issues. But this is totally THE PLACE for couples who want to explore during the day and unwind at night.

Nice, cozy cottage in Silly Creek

  • 4 of 5

This was our first trip to the TCI and we definitely fell in love with it. I travelled with my husband and 2 kids ( 10 and 12 year old) and even though the cottage have excellent views and beautiful sunsets, it was too secluded for us. If you want just to relax and spend the days in a lazy chair looking at the silly creek and the ocean or do some kayaking, this is a perfect place for you. But, we really loved the beaches on the turistic side and that would take us about 25 mins driving everyday to go there....

Overall, nice, clean, cozy, a bit outdated cottage, full equipped kitchen and some treats left by other guests.

Heather is an excellent host who was always there to help us with any request.

We definitely want to come back someday, but we will stay on the north side of the island.

Silly Creek Cottage - Provo - Turks & Caicos - WOW!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Provo Turks and Caicos Island. Last March we stayed in a resort in the northern part of the island and daily drove south to Chalk Sound to Taylor Bay to enjoy the private silky sandy calm beach.

This year we decided to stay at the southern end of the island for more privacy and to be closer to Taylor Bay where we were getting married.

We stayed at Silly Creek Cottage for 10 days and when we drove down Chaulk Sound Rd onto the property we were so excited because of how beautifully landscaped it was. From the road, down the driveway, and all around the cottage was absolutely beautiful, and very well lit at night.

The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Every morning we sat outside (on top deck or bottom patio) in AWE as to the views we had. It was just so relaxing and every time you look around, you see something new. There are stairs that lead to a private beach area with lounge chairs, kayak, snorkeling gear, floats and an outside shower to rinse off before you head back into the cottage. We kayaked around Silly Creek, found conch, saw fish, and sting rays and stopped at the beaches along the small islands. The cottage has internet, a phone, as well as a cell phone for you to use take with you for local calls, or to contact Heather should you have a question, get lost, etc.

SUNSETS!! Since the cottage sets west the sunsets were absolutely gorgeous, every night!

Our stay at Silly Creek Cottage was amazing. It was so nice to stay at a private house and feel like you can do whatever you want. We brought a cooler with us with snacks, cheese, sandwich meat, steak, and chicken which we cooked outside on the gas grill.

Our wedding went exceptionally well.

We are extremely happy that Heather and Clayton shared their piece of paradise with us.

We will definitely be returning to TCI Silly Creek Cottage in the near future.

Thank you again Heather and Clayton

Silly Creek slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was outstanding. Heather was the perfect host and was there for us however we wanted. (She touched base midweek and gave us a heads up on how to get where we wanted) The cottage was better than expected and exactly as described in other reviews and on the web site.

Simply dreamy

  • 5 of 5

I heartily second all of the 5-star reviews about the cottage, Heather, and excursions that have been posted so far. Please read those for more details. I'll try to highlight a few logistical details that might be helpful to you. 1) the provided kayak is such a gift. Otherwise, the super secluded beaches nearby are inaccessible. Be sure to check the tide online. Trying to kayak back during low tide may involve dragging the kayak back! 2) Heather and Clayton provide a pre-paid cell phone that you can top off. 3) There is a water view out of nearly every single window in the cottage. I could kiss the ingenious architect. 4) There's a grill and blender and toaster and pretty much anything you might need to make a meal, should you choose to. 5) I recommend stopping by the cottage to look at what supplies the previous visitors have left (e.g., condiments, sunblock) before going shopping to add to the collection. 6) the WiFi connection is reliable and there's premium cable. 7) If you arrive on a Saturday, and plan to enjoy some wine during your holiday, be sure to purchase it at the grocery store that day. There's no alcohol to be purchased on the island on Sunday. Be careful driving on the left and have a fantastic stay!!

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here the first week of February. Loved the house. Very private with great views from living room and bed room. Be sure to use kayak go over to Silly Cay which is the small island right out side your back deck. There several small sandy beaches on Silly Cat, but be sure you bring an umbrella which is provided in the house. Also be sure to go down to Taylor Bay which is about 5 minute drive away.

You definitely need to rent a car if you stay in the Silly Creek/Chalk Sound area as you are about 15 miles from the Grace Bay area where most of the restaurant and big hotels are.

The owners of the property, Heather and Clayton, are wonderful! They go out of their way to make sure everything you need is provided. The level of service they provide is supreme. Really terrific owners!
