We are a family of 6. We now reside in Boulder, Colorado. Our children are teenagers and we love to travel and spend lots of family time together. With a busy schedule of our children's activities we do not get to Crestone as much as we would like. Please go to our house and enjoy it as that makes us happy!
Jessica purchased this house in 2002
We did not intend to have the house as a rental but as we needed to relocate to Boulder. We built it as a great family house when our children were young.
The peace and quiet is amazing as well as the quality or the air and water. Everything is so fresh and lovely. We love hiking and going to the hot springs and the sand dunes.
I took a high school class trip to Crestone for a week and this wonderful house was our home the whole time. It was spacious, elegant, warm, and tasteful, and the tower bedroom is like something out of a fairy tale. The house was built using the sustainable straw-bale method of construction, and it was toasty on the cold November nights. Perhaps the best thing was the price — it's kind of hard to believe how cheap it was to stay here. Why stay in a motel? This is a great rental.
My husband and I stayed here after going on a retreat to relax and more fully unwind. It was perfect! The house is stunning and has a very peaceful and magical energy. The views are amazing, which are contrasted by the shaded backyard with a creek running through it. My favorite part was waking up in the morning to sounds of the creek, with sun shining in and inspiring views of the mountains. It is also very convenient to town, hikes, and pretty much everything!
My Wife and I, and our two kids and two dogs, all stayed at this amazing home for a few days last summer. The stream in the back, the bridge to do yoga on every morning, and the amazing master bathroom are just a few of the highlights of this wonderful place.
The large (VERY large) room for the kids with lofted beds and a drop dead gorgeous view of 14ers out the window had our two little ones awestruck. We happened to plan our stay around a Full Moon and the moon-rise above the peaks brought a tear to my eye :)
I would strongly recommend checking this place out as the owners are also very easy to work with.
We will be back FOR SURE!
We loved everything about this trip. The house, the town and the people, the stars, the countryside. One of the best, most relaxing vacations we've had in a long time. This is truly is a hidden little gem and we only got to a small part of what's there. Everything about the place is beautiful, but the people we met were the best part.
My wife and I spent two weeks here August 1-16 for our Pundarika Foundation meditation retreats. It was a cool, quiet, spacious, well equipped beautiful and ideal site. North Crestone Creek rushing through the backyard is wonderful. The place is a green oasis in the generally arid high altitude conditions found at the bottom of the Sangres. Not one single cactus in the yard.
I have stayed here twice (once in the fall and once in the spring) and couldn't ask for a more perfect place to chill and enjoy the local culture -- which is quite diverse --.as well as the incredible scenry. Planning next trip already for this summer.
