The Cape Cod Cottage on picturesque Whidbey Island offers a quiet getaway where you can explore the beach, shop or eat out in nearby Langley, or just relax in a peaceful setting.
The Cottage is located on Whidbey Island, in the northern part of Puget Sound and northwestern Washington State. The cottage is 15 minutes from the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry and 10 minutes from the charming seaside town of Langley.
Langley offers terrific views of the Cascade Mountain Range and Saratoga Passage and has boutiques, small shops, an historical museum, fine dining, and a theater which features current films and notable local productions.
Choochokam, the annual arts and crafts fair, is held the weekend closest to the 4th of July. The Bayview Corner Farmers' Market is the perfect place to spend a summer Saturday morning shopping for local produce, flowers, baked goods, arts, and crafts. August brings the annual Island County Fair. As the season turns to fall and then winter, make the short drive into Langley to shop for special holiday gifts, pick up some wine and artisan cheese at the Star Store, eat at one of the local restaurants, or browse for antiques. Return to your cottage for an evening curled up by the fire or out on the covered front porch, reading or relaxing.
We gladly provide our guests with information regarding the Island's many activities. Whether it's taking summer strolls and winter walks on our quiet beach, shopping in our historic towns, or watching the spectacular seasons and wildlife, there is something for everyone at the Cape Cod Cottage.

As we drove off the ferry, we took a deep breath and sighed. The drive was beautiful and excitement began to slowly settle in as we approached The Cape. One right turn down Sunlight Beach Drive and we were greeted by the tide being out, birds signing and completely peace and quiet.
The house is beautiful, rustic, filled with memories of times gone by and SPOTLESS. Everything we could need was there and just steps from a beach. Bring your basket and pick up sand dollars to your heart's content.
On Friday, we went into town and stopped at the 2nd street market. Charming! On Saturday we took full advantage of the Farmer's Market right there in Bayview and had our pick of fresh eggs, beautiful strawberries, cheeses and more.
When you stay at The Cape, all you need to bring is yourself and be prepared to be surrounded by all the beauties of Whidbey Island.
My daughter and I created amazing memories here. The Cape is part of our traditions now.
A place of beauty and tranquility.
This home is perfect if you want to go out and explore and just as beautiful if you just want to stay put and enjoy the beach.
Thank you so much for sharing with us your home!
This cottage was so perfect for my birthday retreat. It’s settled between a lagoon on the back side that is fed by the Sound and just across the street (kitty corner) is the public access to the beach. There are incredible views of the Sound from the front (from a covered porch with cozy furniture to lounge on) and lovely views of the lagoon in the back (from the sweet yard and the upstairs bedroom)- there are birds of all shapes and sizes everywhere. Everything from hummingbirds and swallows to hawks, herons, and eagles. Stunning. And so quiet at night! Lovely!
Things I loved: a sweet bike ride to the farmer’s market on Saturday (which is a must see), walking on the beach (which is super long during lower tides), plenty of space inside and out to perch for reading or writing, waking up to spectacular sun rise over the lagoon, evenings on the beach, and the sights and sounds of the birds all day long.
Things to know about the cottage: it’s originally a family beach cottage, and it has that feeling. Like kids have run in and out with sandy feet and women have sat on the porch with iced tea and lemonade while the men barbequed burgers in the back. It’s older, which makes it that much more charming, and it’s pretty darned adorable and very clean. There is a super comfy leather couch and chair in the living room, a sweet little kitchen with all of the kitchen things I could ever need, and a little dining table. There’s a lovely area for sleeping quarters upstairs with incredible views of the water front and back. The windows upstairs all open up for perfect sea breezes, and there are curtains to separate the sleeping areas for privacy (a full/queen bed and three twin beds). The back yard is delightful- covered patio with a grill, a large round table, and lots of areas to lounge around. There’s also a fire pit that is pretty rustic right next to the lagoon which would be great on a colder night.
I will definitely be back to this little home by the sea. It’s a sweet and charming place where memories are meant to be made.
