We loved the location of this house- so close to the river and to the biking paths.
It felt isolated, which we appreciated. The layout of the house was perfect for our group.
Year 2 for President's Day Ski Adventure - House performed admirably for a group of 8 adults and 5 kids...Plenty of room for everyone! 2 entertaining spaces made for easy separation of "church & state." Well equipped for any eventuality. Minor inconveniences (trash compactor, bathroom fan, some jets in Hot-tub, bike maintenance, knife sharpening) were easy to overlook with ample activities to occupy our time (blue skies, skiing, BEER!). We'll definitely be back.
There were 8 adults (4 couples) that stayed in this house. We had to draw for bedrooms since one bedroom only had 2 bunk beds. But it worked out. The kitchen was very large and most times there would be 4 of us in it cooking or cleaning. The heating was an issue. If you have a fire in the fireplace then the heat doesn't seem to go on downstairs were the bedrooms were. It was very cold. If you turned the heat up to compensate for the fireplace then once the fire went out it became very hot downstairs. One of us would get up in the middle of the night to turn the heat down. I'm surprised with the size of the house they didn't have 2 heating zones. Also, there were no DVDs so we rented one and then found out we couldn't get either DVD to work. We ended up watching the movie on one of our computers. It would be nice to have written instructions on how to use the DVD players.
Just a very minor thing is they said there was a waffle iron (listed on sheet) but there wasn't. I had planned to make waffles one morning but couldn't. No big deal but if they list it, it would be nice to have it. They also listed DVDs to use but there were none.
Over all we all had a great time together and enjoyed the house.
This home was ideal for our vacation. The weather was up and down like a yo-yo (snow, sunshine, rain) but the house made it enjoyable no matter what the weather. Having wood for the fireplace was a real plus on those snowy and dreary days. Sunriver is a neat place to stay but is like navigating a maze for driving. I'd recommend the "Circle 8" app for your iPhone to help find you way around the resort. It cost $0.99 but is well worth it. Other than our issues with the grill which needs to be fixed or replaced, we have no other complaints.
After staying in Bend several times, we finally found the perfect place in Sunriver for a weekend with friends. This house is steps from the Deschutes River, miles of trails, and a short drive to Mount Bachelor and the breweries in Bend. Tons of clean and cozy space. We especially liked the cruiser bikes, ping pong table, fire place and hot tub. In fact some of us liked it so much that we never left the house. We will be sure to come back.
BIG - 4 bedrooms with 2 master SUITES (no fighting for the little bed), 4-Bunk room, Queen room, plus pull out sofa, in the North End of Sunriver - Close to Golf, relatively close to Sharc, but a good distance from the village (not walking distance) Easy jaunt to Mt. Bachelor and Bend. Home was in great shape...Kitchen is well equipped for cooking for a big family. 2 distinct entertaining levels that makes Adult and Kiddo separation easy! Hot tub was new(ish) and super well maintained, plentiful bikes for use. We will definitely consider using this property again!
