Lake Travis Lake House with Boat Slip and NEW POOL on Deep Water Cove

As best man in a friends wedding it was up to me to plan his bachelor party. We were going to spend a weekend on Lake Travis and in Austin. I found this house on home away and it looked great. The property manager was helpful, responsive and great to deal with.

When we arrived the house looked great and had all of the amenities advertised. There were no instructions on where the fire pit and pool were, which was farther away than expected and took some trial and error to locate. We also used the wrong boat dock as no information was provided. But no harm done and we had a great time.

The only downside was the owners. Apparently they live nearby and took it upon themselves to enter the house after we arrived but were not at home. I'm not sure if they were checking up on us or what. They told the neighbors staying at the adjacent guest house they "needed to borrow an inflatable mattress." But whatever the reason, it was an invasion of privacy and based on this alone I would not recommend renting this house.

This was labor day weekend we had a large group and there was a large group next door. As a result there were a lot of cars which overloaded the parking. The house is in the country, appears very rural (most of the surrounding properties have mobile homes or Deliverance-style housing--only a few of the neighboring lake houses are nice like this) and has a rough looking yard so both we and our neighbors parked one car on the grass.

We returned Saturday evening to a very abrasive note telling us to move the car and call the owners about "damages." The neighbors actually spoke to the owner who, they said, was irritable. Nothing in the long list of posted rules said no parking on the grass and nothing was posted near the lawn. Apparently there is a septic tank buried below the grass and the owner was worried enough about a car parked to threaten us but not worried enough to post a warning.

There were no damages to the tank whatsoever, but the owner's conduct was enough to add an unnecessary level of stress to the weekend for some in our group. We took photos of the area to ensure nothing is blamed on us later. We did get our deposit back but were concerned about it. It was just very unnecessary and avoidable had we been told not to park there.

Bottom line: There are other places in this price range to stay where you don't have owners snooping in your things or threatening to sue you. Stay there instead.

Myself along with 4 other couples went down to enjoy the lake house for my 30th birthday. It was nothing short of a wonderful time. The house was perfect the beds were extremely comfortable. The two small guest rooms did seem to get a little hot during the night. We loved using the golf cart for the short trip down to the pool, bonfire pit, and lake. We utilized it the entire weekend. The view while in the pool was breath taking and just simply serene which made star gazing ultimate with an open view. The bonfire pit was an added bonus for roasting marsh-mellows for s'mores and chatting in the late evening, a starter log helps for a quick light. The gas grill was brand spanking new! The only thing the house was lacking was maybe a large pot for boiling on the stove, but we used the grill instead and spent most of the time on the balcony anyways.

The only thing is that the directions to house need to be updated and rephrased if you were directionally challenged then they could be confusing for some. GPS worked great and was even quicker than the directions from Dallas into the lake. Thank you for an amazing time and I will definitely be referring you in the future and possibly returning :)
