Enjoy a private relaxing retreat at our four Bedroom Beach Home tucked into a hidden corner of East Sandy Bay on Roatan. Conveniently located only about two miles from Coxen Hole and four and a half miles from West End. Come anytime year round - It's always paradise in the Caribbean! And it's always 'Sunday' on the island! Roatan is a fantastic island secluded between Belize and Honduras. Just about 200 miles south of Cancun, Mexico - this water is crystal clear and way more affordable for basic needs than almost anywhere else you might travel. Just walk out your door and into the ocean to enjoy world class snorkeling, scuba-diving or fishing.

Our Home was built in the late 90's and renovated in 2009. It's rustic charm appeals to those who like to adventure off the beaten path and enjoy the quaint traditions of 'Island Style' living the way Mark Twain & Robert Louis Stevenson and others did back in the day... We offer laidback comfortable quality for your ultimate 'Casual Holiday' and beachfront vacation. Our prices are extra affordable and our tropical themes in art and color for each room help to make your visit a pleasant one. Take a look at our link to Google Earth Maps and see our 350 ft shared community dock that will have you at the world's most wonder-full reef in just a short 6 minute swim. We also have a couple of sea kayaks and some extra basic snorkeling gear stored in the bodega for you to use and enjoy.

We have a fun network of several homes right on our BEACHFRONT - all with ocean views. So if you want to have a larger group for Weddings, Family Reunions or whatever - just give us a call and we can work out something special for your group. South Seas Island Escape or Parrot's Nest are just two of the wonderful escapes waiting to hold your interest and your tired body in a nice soft hammock gently swaying in the warm breeze...

South Seas is primarily available as a full home rental for families and up to four couples. Each unit has a double bed, full bathroom, fans, table, chairs, etc. Our first priority is to rent the entire house to one group exclusively. However, because each bedroom has it’s own private entrance, if the house is still available as we get very close to the dates of arrival, we are occasionally able to offer individual bedrooms to be rented separately. In that instance, the online calendar may appear as if the house is booked, but it may only be one or more bedrooms rented thus far, so you are invited to inquire anyway, as almost always we can help you with a nearby home as well. In those rare cases where two small groups or couples might share the home, all guests will have the added advantage over a standard beachfront cabana room elsewhere, in that they will have full access to common use of the kitchen, library, lounge & deck areas.

Each of the 4 bedroom units has nice 'firefly' lights for romantic ambiance. The deck also has soft rope lighting for ease on eyes and great for easy stargazing as well. All units form an 'L' shape around the open deck which has a Gazebo for shade and hammocks and across the deck is the freestanding octagonal shaped kitchen building with it’s own bathroom.

Each unit has views and ventilation from three sides. Constant tropical trade wind breezes create soothing and effective natural ventilation. Swim right offshore from our safe sandy beach. Our Wonderful Reef is but a short swim away. We even have a map with 'snorkeling trails' marked. Sun bathe or relax in a hammock in the shade.

You are certain to enjoy the neighborhood's 350 foot dock, which puts you even closer for an even easier swim over the shallow sandy bottom to wonderful reef treasures right in front of our relaxing home. Rental also includes use of 2 SEA KAYAKS and Snorkel Gear.

We had a wonderful (and too brief!) stay at South Seas. We needed a short stay on Roatan on our way back from Guanaja, and found that there was no place on the island that accommodated requests of less than 3 nights. South Seas allowed us to stay (on very short notice), and we had a delightful experience. They have an incredible dock out close to the snorkeling, that also leads to a shallow sandy area where we could cool off and swim (without a bunch of sea grass under us, which is more typical). They are at the end of a long beach, so the location is very quiet and private. The restaurant next door is no longer there, so noise was not an issue. We enjoyed long walks all along Sandy Bay, and found the most incredible little family operated restaurant right on the beach (the only restaurant along the beach) that had the best food that we experienced in our entire 10 day stay in the bay islands (Restaurante El Paso). South Seas has a wonderful deck with incredible ocean views and outdoor tables for dining that are in the shade of a palapa. We found there to be no sand flies which was heavenly. We spent time with the owner who was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are definitely on the rustic side, so come here if you are looking for a more laid back island experience.

Very rustic. Not a 5 star location. Property manager was very accommodating. Home is in need of some tlc. View of ocean and the peer was excellent. Very quiet location. If you are looking to get away to sit and relax its a great spot. Good location for snorkling and scuba diving. Both are excellent. Overall a good vacation spot.

We stayed at South Seas over the holidays and had a very pleasant stay. If you are looking for a quiet place to kick and enjoy the view, or to spend some time out in the water or sun you can't go wrong. Tania the property manager was very helpful, and any minor issues that came up during our stay were quickly attended too. Based on our stay any problems the previous reviewer may have encountered are no longer an issue. The house itself was clean and had all the ammenities you'd need to be comfortable (although I'd agree the photos are outdated, I'd suggest the place looks better then shown as some improvements have been made). The spacious layout was also ideal for larger groups such as ours. Two area's that exceeded my expectations was the fantastic access to the reef for snorkling and how quiet the area was. There are very little in the way of restaurants, stores nearby, but taxis were quick and cheap and was a good tradeoff for being in such a quiet location. Overall I enjoyed our stay and unless you are expecting a luxury 4 star resort, I'd recommend the place, especially if you are a larger group looking to be in the same spot.

Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

The picture of the house from the dock must an quite old, as it doesn't show Hobbies Hideaway right next door. By next door I mean 5 feet away. Taking a nap is hard when delivery trucks are rumbling outside your window. The owner next door will give you the keys to the place, aside from that you are pretty much on your own. In short there is nobody there who cares if the house is a mess (it was) if there is or is not toilet paper, etc...

The house itself is "okay" at best.. It's basic (what I was looking for) but pretty blah overall. I would not recommend thjis place to anyone really... It's not secluded at all and the people around were not very friendly... P.S. If you eat next door at Hobbies Hideaway (and you will ...because it is 5 feet away) - make sure you tip the lady who cooks and not the server/owner. I don't think any tips are passed along to her (since she complained to us about never leaving a tip - despite leaving a good tip every time). Overall, boo!! I suggest updating the pictures on this ad...

Great Ocean Views & Breezes from our deck and the dock Bedroom #1. Each bedroom has private bathroom, big views, fan table & chairs. Sunbathe, Snorkel, Party or relax in a hammock on our nice offshore dock Recently remodeled kitchen also has a table and chairs and adjoining bathroom. View of our beach to the east Sunset each night sinks into the western waters from our dock Looking at our home from Dock - Secluded; in Swiss Family Robinson Style Bedroom #2 has Double Bed + Single bed + table and chair and it's own bathroom. Bedroom #3 has 2 Double Beds + + table and chair and it's own bathroom. Bedroom #4 has Double Bed + Single bed + table and chair and it's own bathroom. Bathrooms in the 4 bedrooms each have a shower. Plus half bath beside Kitchen. View from our deck, with stairs down to the sand! Gazebo on Deck and doors to bedroom #4 on left and to kitchen on the right. Covered Gazebo on the deck is a dining and socializing area. It is fun to be able to walk out onto the pier right off your secluded beach. Carvings of Dolfins grace our deck just outside the bedrooms. Master Bedroom & Bathroom View or our 350 foot long pier and our beach from the deck of the house. Sunny Beach and the house with large white fresh water cistern beside it. Relaaaaaax out on the end of the pier. We have a huge fresh water cistern in the whimsical shape of a pitcher. We are in a very beautiful and natural setting that is more peaceful than most. View from our beachfront house.
