Union is a charming, friendly town right on the Oregon Trail. It is quite common to see deer wandering down the street or standing in a farmer's field. We are proud of our wonderful Union County Museum and our Union Carnegie Public Library. Our little library is one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in the West still used as a library. Union is also known for its impressive Victorian homes. In addition, it is the home of the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show and Rodeo, proudly one of the oldest in the West.
Union is the perfect location for easy access to explore and enjoy Eastern Oregon. We are located two hours from Boise, five hours from Portland, an hour from Pendleton one way and Baker City the other, plus being two hours from Hells Canyon one way and Wallowa Lake the other. We are ten minutes from Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area, the largest hard stem bulrush marsh remaining in Eastern Oregon and home to thousands of nesting birds during the spring.
Come and relax with us. Use us as your base as you explore beautiful Eastern Oregon. Come see the Blue Mountains, the Elkhorns and the Wallowas. We provide easy access to local rodeos every weekend all summer. It is perfect for mushroom hunters, bird watchers, and geocachers. We are fifteen minutes from hiking and snowmobiling trails. It is only a short drive to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center located above Baker City.
We are the perfect place to stay when you come to the area for weddings, graduations, family reunions or functions at Eastern Oregon University, twenty minutes away.

We are on-site owners so can provide any assistance that you need. We moved here from the Portland area several years ago and cannot even imagine living anywhere else. We love the fresh air, good water, friendly people and amazing scenery.
We moved to Union seven years ago and bought one of the historic buildings in town. Part of the building was one of the original banks and the rest of the building was added later. It was the Chevrolet dealership for decades, a grocery store, community center, and restaurant later. The back portion of the builidng was reconfigured in recent years into beautiful loft apartments, one of which we make available as a vacation rental.
We enjoyed our stay here as the loft was clean , comfortable and quiet. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore this part of Oregon
Spacious, fresh, quiet, private, so comfortable. Everything we could possibly have needed. Washer/dryer, full kitchen, piles of snowy white fluffy towels. Beautiful Catherine Creek just steps away. Market down the street, and don't miss the eclectic combo Hardware/Liquor/Espresso Store across the street. Walk to the bagel shop for breakfast... Eastern Oregon's best kept secret hideaway.
Thank you for the hospitality and the comfy loft. It had everything we needed and more. Plenty of space and a lot of charm. There were great books and games as well as TV. The Union Hotel offers a good dinner as well and it's just across the street. We have stayed a couple of times in this Loft and love it. It's like home for us. Thank you so very much!!
We had a wonderful time at this loft apartment. It was a great place for our widely separated family to meet and enjoy some fun and relaxing time together. The loft was spotless and perfectly set up for our family of parents and two adult kids. Our sweet hosts even set up a Christmas tree for us to decorate making the apartment wonderfully homey and comforting. The architecture of this loft is really awesome, but the high ceilings coupled with a really cold snap outside, complete with howling winds, made us feel a bit chilly at first. However, the beds are warm and comfy, the shower has tons of hot water, and our hosts were anxious to make sure we had whatever heaters we needed to be comfortable. We really enjoyed exploring the surrounding region in its winter setting, and we hope to return here to enjoy it in the summer.
Wife and I stayed four nights in July. Great, quiet apt, wonderful hosts. Lots to do nearby -- and don't miss touring the Union cemetary (watch the Horned Owls at night). See if you can find Urban Ratz grave.
My husband and I have stayed several times and each time have found the innkeepers to be accommodating and friendly. The area is very spacious and no chance of feeling cramped or crowded. There are two things important to me when staying at a hotel or inn. The bed must be comfortable and the towels fluffy. I wasn't let down! We look forward to staying again real soon!
