A charming end of terrace house with garden in Kensington and close to the green space of Holland Park. Walk to High Street Kensington, Notting Hill and the huge Westfield by Shepherd's Bush station.
The open-plan sitting/dining room on the ground floor runs from the front to the back of the property and is light and airy. There are a couple of comfortable sofas and some teak wooden furniture with Eastern influences. There is a small tv in the sitting room. The galley-style kitchen is at the back of the property. French doors lead off the kitchen to the pretty patio garden. Here you'll find an outdoor table and chairs for some al fresco dining.
Upstairs you'll find all 3 double bedrooms and the bathroom. The master bedroom faces the front and has two large windows. The other two bedrooms face the garden at the back, and one has a lovely double aspect. All have white wooden floorboards. The bathroom has a bath (with shower extension), loo, sink and large mirror.
This is a lovely property in an exclusive area, more specifically known Brook Green, Kensington which is classified as a ‘conservation area’. With many of its homes dating from the 19th century or earlier, it is an intimate and friendly area very close to the Olympia Exhibition Centre. Kensington Olympia Overground station is less than a 5 minute walk. Shepherd's Bush (with connections on the Central and Overground lines) is less than a 10 minute walk. From here, you can be at Bond Street or Oxford Circus within 15 minutes.
Walk to High Street Kensington with its upmarket boutiques, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and cinema. The huge Westfield, one of Europe's biggest shopping experiences, is less than a 10 minute walk away, by Shepherd's Bush station. You'll find a mall with a world ranking collection of designer shops, more than 40 restaurants, several cinemas. Head over to Shepherds Bush Market to see a demonstration of London's ethnic diversity, with stall holders, vegetables and provisions from all corners of the world. If you’re looking for some green space, Holland Park is a 10 minute walk, and you can venture further afield to Notting Hill on foot in about 25-30 minutes.
Easy travel from both Underground and Overground stations as well as handy bus routes to all parts of London, make this a great spot for travel to London’s theatres, museums, shops and tourist destinations.
This was an absolutely beautiful place to call home for two weeks- Kensington is such a lovely area and this house was bright, clean and inviting. I particularly loved the painted wood floors in the bedrooms and the sheltered eating area in the garden. Me and my girlfriends would love to come back here- it was a very special place.
The focus of this exclusive area is Kensington High Street with its array of upmarket boutiques and luxury shops as well as high street shops, cafes and restaurants. The streets of elegant townhouses, often with white pillared fronts, are classically British and familiar to many as an emblem of prosperity. Behind these immaculate doors are spacious homes, with room for all the family.
Kensington borders Hyde Park - one of the largest parks in central London and a great day out – as well as Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace where Princess Diana once lived. Holland Park, just West of Kensington High Street, is handy for a walk with the kids, or if you’re looking for an urban retreat to unwind, there are many high end spas and salons to visit.
The second hub of activity is in South Kensington, which has a tube station and a decent selection of pubs, wine bars and eateries. This area plays host to many museums and venues, notably the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Many consider this the ideal destination for a family vacation to London because of the safe, quiet streets and numerous activities available close to the city centre.
