Are there restaurants nearby?
There are many dining options within 20 minutes of the villa. Local Indonesian food can be found everywhere. Some of our favorite Indonesian and western options include:
Echo Beach restaurant has extensive indoor and outside seating located right on the beach and elevated above the rolling waves that are very popular with surfers. It has a good selection of casual Asian and western food including a BBQ fish and meat selection. One of our favorite casual lunch spots. Try the Canggu fried chicken, tuna steak or homemade beef pie.
This is a British style pub which serves all the usual British food including fish and chips, pies as well as a large selection of sandwiches, wines and beers. Located a couple of doors along from Bali Buda and Kunti III. Our recommendations are the Sunday roast, the Ploughmans Lunch or the Shepherds pie!
This small but perfectly formed Sushi and Japanese food restaurant serves the best sushi in Bali at very reasonable prices. Their Sushi sets are particularly good. They also have a takeaway and delivery service.
The Canngu club is a beautiful colonial style building situated in large grounds in the village of Canggu and has a large swimming pool, gym and spa. Daily and weekly memberships are available but are not required for the casual restaurant overlooking the grounds serving a variety of cuisines.
Sarong is a lovely restaurant serving a wide selection of Asian cuisine from probably the longest menu in Bali! Reservations are highly recommended as it is a popular restaurant. Also have gluten free, dairy free and nut free menus.
Sardine is a charming restaurant located in a large bale overlooking paddy fields in Kerabokan. As the name suggests the menu is fish focused but they also serve a selection of other classics such as steak.
Alila Villas Soori
This 5 star villa/hotel development is less than ten minutes from the villa through local villages and paddy fields. It has a seafront restaurant serving a good selection of regional Indonesian and international food as well as a lovely bar overlooking the sea. It is a nice place to enjoy lunch or evening cocktails or a special meal. Mention Villa Abadi to get 20% off restaurant food and spa treatments.
Metis is beautifully situated overlooking rice paddies and serves a variety of Asian inspired dishes.
Pan Pacific Nirwana Resort
This 5 star resort is next to Tanah Lot temple and has breathtaking views of the ocean and temple. It boasts an excellent golf course and a variety of dining options. We suggest heading to the sunset lounge and watching the sun set over Tanah Lot with a cocktail.

Guestbook comments from the owner
My husband and I stayed at Villa abadi late april 2014. The Villa is spacious and well maintained with daily pool and villa clean - We took up the offer of optional breakfast which was nicely cooked. Staff very friendly. They organized in house massages every day which were around $20 for a one hour massage which was great. We found Echo Beach Restaurant a great spot for meals (25 minutes away). We also had a surprise me dinner cooked in house. We had a very good driver who was a wealth of information for $45 for 8 hours. The pool was beautifully maintained with a fabulous outlook - loved cooling off in our own pool. The photos truly represent the Villa. New kitchen and bathroom professionally finished. We were a little worried about the distance from Seminyak which in late afternoon took 60 minutes with traffic (during morning it took 45 minutes), but after spending several days already in Seminyak we were happy to just be at Villa abadi - yes we will look forward to coming back - lots of areas to explore but will need car or bike. i can definitely recommend
(Owner note: Gave 4 stars on Flipkey. Our response to guest highlighted that Seminyak to Tanah Lot road can be busy late afternoons due to number of tourists heading to Tanah Lot for sunset)
We are a British couple, based in China for the last 10 years, who spent a long time looking for the perfect rural retreat with rice terrace, jungle and mountain views to escape the concrete jungle and non stop pace of Shanghai!
Having found Villa Abadi we now regularly spend quality time away from the frenetic pace of life in China and find real pleasure in our new found passion of identifying projects to improve Villa Abadi to not only increase the quality of the experience for ourselves, but also that of our guests.
Bali is an easy sell as a holiday destination with its tropical weather and fantastic surf and beaches, but all too many visitors only get to experience the 'tourist trail' Bali that has grown up around the popular locations of Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Kuta etc. Villa Abadi is only 20 minutes from Seminyak but is in a different world, set in a small rural village on the edge of rice terraces, jungle and with views to Batukeru, Bali's 2nd highest mountain, in the distance. Ubud is just 20km away yet the villa is still less than 10 minutes from deserted paradise beaches. For the more adventurous, the much quieter Western part of the island, much of which is National Park, becomes much more accessible as do trips to the center and North coast of the island.
Ideal for those looking to relax in a rural tropical location where the traffic noises of the main tourist hubs are replaced by crowing roosters, bird song and the occasional village festival and the views of villa compound walls by working rice terraces, jungle, mountains and local village scenes. It is also a great base from which to explore greater Bali including central areas such as Bedugal and the north coast as well as the very quiet western parts of the island. With a variety of great dining options within 20 minutes of the villa and a similar trip time back to the bustle of Seminyaks bars & beaches we believe Villa Abadi offers the best of both worlds.
