Tallboys is a two story family home that offers three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a full sized bed and a twin bed. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed. Bedroom 3 - the master - offers a queen sized bed. All bedrooms and a full bath are on the second floor. The main floor has a kitchen, dining area, laundry room, mudroom, den, living room, and full bath. It offers two large flat screen televisions (55" and 42'). The basement is partially finished as a 'man cave', which has a half bath, ping pong table, and gaming setup. Tallboys has a two car garage and a deck out back that is attached to a storage building. This includes a fire pit and lots of wood! This is wonderful because of the privacy offered and the view of the wooded ledge. It is not rare to see wildlife from this location (not bears!). There is a paved yard with a basketball hoop for kids (or kids at heart!). This home is set up with the following amenities: ironing board, laundry, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, wireless internet, phone, and air conditioning in the master bedroom and in our daughter's bedroom. We have a heat pump downstairs that cools the living room and dining areas. The den has a separate air conditioner as well. There is an extra refrigerator in the mudroom. Our home is in the village of Northeast Harbor, close to the grocery store, shops, the school, Neighborhood House, church, the marina, and the Island Explorer (free public transportation). Our property borders the golf course and is a short distance from the Tennis Club (private club).
We built this house ourselves on land that my husband's parents owned. We work for the local school system (teacher and Director of Maintenance & Transportation). We have 3 children - one who is grown with his own family, one entering college this fall, and one who will be a sophomore in high school this fall. We grew up on this island and love it here. We love to camp, walk/hike, golf, and follow local sports teams. We feel fortunate that our neighbors are our friends and that this 'village' has truly helped us to raise our children.
owner/property manager purchased this house in 2003
This home sits on a piece of land once owned by my husband's parents. We chose to build a home here because it is in a beautiful location that provides a safe environment for our children. The school system is one of the best in the state (Blue Ribbon Award last year), and there are many opportunities for young people in this area. We love the quiet of the 'off season', but enjoy the excitement that comes in the summer. We feel lucky to live on this island!
There are many vacation destination spots on MDI. I would highly recommend taking a hike at Acadia National Park, a whale watch out of Bar Harbor, and Pop Over & Tea at the Jordan Pond House. Kids may enjoy a round of mini golf at Pirate's Cove or an ice cream cone at the Mount Desert Ice Cream Shop, where President Obama treated his family when he visited the island a year ago!

|Notes||We have Carter's Real Estate work with us regarding the rental of our home. They deal with the lease, collect the money, and are the contact people should anything go wrong during our renter's stay. We find this to work well for us and for the families who rent from us.|
