THE WESTERN SUITE - FULL KITCHEN, PRIVACY AND MORE!

We stayed at the Western Suite for 2 nights. Lloyd had food in the fridge for us, fruit on the counter and wonderfully comfortable beds. The suite has a beautiful view and a quiet, peaceful setting. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kindness of Lloyd who was so helpful with touring ideas, recommending places to eat and visit while on our trip which made our entire experience wonderful from the moment we arrived until we left for home. We highly recommend this suite.

My husband and two daughters (21 & 18) recently stayed at Lloyd's 'Western Suite' on his lovely property on Salt Spring. Lloyd met us with a fabulous basket of organic fruit, his favorite breads, eggs, bacon and more and introduced us to his lovingly decorated and cared for suite. We were on Salt Spring for a wedding so this was a perfect place for our home base. I would highly recommend Lloyd's property for a short or long stay. A five minute drive into the town of Ganges, fully equiped, sunny, quiet, and a helpful and friendly host! Perfect for families or couples alike. Thank you Lloyd!

Equipped with a full kitchen, a propane BBQ, comfortable queen bed and bunk beds for the kids the Western Suite is a very economical option. It even has a washer and dryer. It's rustic and charming, much like the owner :)

The Western Suite is highly recommended for a couple or for a family with young kids looking for a comfortable place to stay at the end of a busy day exploring Salt Spring. It's set up more for accommodation than as a place to "hang out". It is not suitable for people with mobility issues or those who don't like stairs. You need to climb about 20 steps to reach the entrance, but that makes the view from the front deck much better. The Ridge Suite, however, is well suited to those with mobility issues or an unusual phobia of stairs.

We stayed in the Western Suite for 5 days and in the Ridge Suite for 5 days (there's a separate review of the Ridge Suite). The view from the front deck of the Western Suite is wonderful, looking out over the islands and (on a clear day) to the mountains on the BC mainland. We enjoyed that view during several BBQ dinners while sitting on that deck!

This property is an honest 5 minute walk to Fulford-Ganges Road so with some planning it is possible to stay here without a car, as the community bus line runs along Fulford-Ganges Road. By car it is an honest 10 minute drive to downtown Ganges and 15 minutes to the Fulford ferry dock.

The Western Suite has good WiFi coverage thanks to changes that the owner made during our stay.

Our host, Lloyd, is a warm, remarkable man, ready to offer assistance or a recommendation for an outing, a restaurant, or a bottle of wine - all of which proved to be excellent! He obviously takes pride in his property and in ensuring that his guests feel at home.
