Wonderful Family Retreat

Our family had an amazing time at Nantahala, and found this house to be the perfect retreat. The owners take great pride in their house, and it shows. Absolutely everything is in top-notch condition, and they even called to check in and make sure there were no problems.
To get on the water, we rented a pontoon boat, which was incredibly easy to do. The kids loved being towed behind on the inner tube, and it was fun for all of us to explore the lake from the water. You can also hop in the kayak and canoe that come with the house. There's a nearby island with a rope swing that is an easy paddle away.
Being right on the water is fabulous. The deck faces East, so it is a wonderfully relaxing place to start your morning, enjoying a cup of coffee while the sun rises and the mist lifts off the lake. And once the kids woke up, swimming couldn't have been easier. The kids could simply change into their bathing suits and run down the dock and jump on in. It is deep enough for diving. The dock gets some nice shade in the afternoon, which saved us from having to reapply sunscreen late in the day.
The house is on a quiet, dead-end road, so it was a very peaceful place to relax. The kids want me to add that they enjoyed evening campfires down at the fire pit!
The place is pretty remote, so there isn't a grocery store nearby. But with a little planning ahead, that wasn't a problem. We just packed coolers to take all of the food we needed for the week. All in all, it was an unforgettable week of peace, quiet, tranquility, family relaxation, and fun!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much. We know that everyone works hard and they want a care free vacation, if there's such a thing. Therefore, we try to make our part of your vacation as enjoyable as possible.
Thanks again for your kind words.
