Beautiful mountain lodge on 86 acre scenic horse estate in Montgomery County, MD, 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. Three excellent golf courses nearby.

Get away from the busyness of downtown DC, and enjoy the peace of this estate overlooking a rolling pasture of horses grazing by the fish-filled pond. The 3-story house includes 4 bedrooms, 3 and a half baths with Jacuzzis, an elegant dining room, 2 full kitchens, a spa room with massage table and infrared sauna, a scenic great room and an upper room with a full library. Choose from hundreds of books, and read in front of the Great Room 30-foot fireplace, or by one of the 2 wood stoves. Bring your computer and enjoy wireless access. We have a chef that will prepare healthy, tasty food or you can enjoy yourself in either of the two kitchens or BBQ! There is an organic store, a grocery store within one mile, and in summer, a fresh vegetable garden.

Golf: Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club was a very well maintained club and part of the experience is traveling to the course and crossing on White's Ferry, it is like going back in time. The course is only 8 1/2 miles from the home.

The P.B. Dye Club is another great course and very challenging. In typical P.B. Dye fashion there are plenty of railroad ties that you can bounce your ball off on a bad shot. This is 15 miles from the house but seems closer, as it a nice country drive.

Whiskey Creek Golf club is about 15 miles from the house. It is very, very nice. Very well maintained with a lot of elevation changes

A Christmas stay at Briarley Hill Lodge

We had such a tranquil time at the lodge. Being there allowed each of us to leave distracting issues behind and center our focus on being together and soaking up the lovely views and atmosphere. It was a very special place to enjoy our grandson’s (and first grandchild) first Christmas.

Fall at the Lodge

This home was amazing! The pictures do not do it justice....It is conveniently located near Baltimore, DC, Gettysburg, Antitiem, and the Amish villages in Pennsylvania. We traveled the country side and were truly amazed at the history. It was wonderful to watch the horses in the morning while drinking our coffee. We had the horses in their pasture as well as the polo ponies working out. The views from every room were breath taking...We would definately recommend this property and return for another stay.
The kitchen is a cook's dream come true!

Hello Alyse, I wanted to take a moment to let you know what a memorable time my family and I had during our stay in your beautiful home. Your home is amazing, and more amazing is the peace and tranquility that we all experienced on your ranch. Waking up to birds singing and the wind blowing was unforgettable. We barely turned on the TV, we enjoyed " true quality family time". Watching the horses graze on the wide open pastures just outside the windows while watching the sunset was truly a remarkable sight. Taking long walks in the morning out to the fish pond and around the stables was very enjoyable. The spaciousness of the house allowed everyone to unwind and have their own area to relax. The kitchen was well equipped and very comfortable . The dining room allowed us all to sit together and reflect on the days adventures. The library area was very cozy. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds extremely comfortable. The great room with it's imposing fireplace was something out of the ordinary along with the floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows that provided views of the pastures and forest area beyond , truly a sight to behold . Thank you Alyse for being so accommodating and easy to work with. I will highly recommend your home to my friends back in Miami. Can't wait to go back! God Bless, J. A. Golf Executives Review

Alyse,
I wanted to write you a letter to tell you how much we enjoyed your home for our week attending the US Open at Congressional.
The home was so comfortable, we enjoyed watching the sun set over the back patio with all the horses in the field. That is a treat for many of the city slickers. Every guest had their own room and bathroom, the beds were all very comfortable and the workout area was a bonus for those of us that like to get in a little cardio in the AM. If we had more time, I am sure there are tons of places to hike and enjoy the out doors.
Downtown Poolesville was a very nice surprise. We ended most nights at Bassett's fine food and beverage. The Bar was very friendly and we could eat watching sports and talking to the locals. One night we sat outside on the patio for a really nice experience. The food and drinks were very reasonable.
We Played Golf almost everyday and we were very happy with the courses to choose from. Last but not least was Whiskey Creek Golf club which was also about 15 miles from the house, it was very, very nice. Very well maintained with a lot of elevation changes, big difference from what we see in West Tennessee. This course was also about 15 miles from the house and I would definitely recommend it. Remember to avoid the Whiskey creek building in the middle of the 18th fairway, the window openings are not big enough to safely hit through.
In closing, I would recommend your home to anyone that has an opportunity to travel or vacation in the area. It is a treat they will not soon forget.
