|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Built in the late 1800's, this super cool and eclectic duplex house is very clean, cozy, stylish one bedroom, one full bath, large kitchen and den that offers all modern conveniences of home. (If your are looking for a 2 Bedroom look at vrbo.com/424102).
We offer a complimentary Welcome Wine, coffee pods for our Keurig coffee maker, granola bars and biscotti, water bottles, snacks for those late night munchies. We also provide toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, creme rinse, soaps, and every thing needed for a great stay.
Take a trip back in time while sleeping in zippered encased comfortable beds and watching your favorite movies on the main 60' Flat Panel or the Bedroom 32' LCD TV, or surf the internet with blazing fast fiber. A HGTV Designer provided most of the furnishings and colors in this house. The bathroom is brand new and offers a walk in shower. The bathroom is period correct with the tile work. Wall attached hair dryer provided.
New plumbing was installed which provides fresh tasting Grapevine Water without that “Old” mineral taste from most older homes in Grapevine. No metal pipes here, PEX piping provides flavor like the Springs.
Central AC and Gas Heat in every room plus Split Unit's (Newest Technology that hit the US Shores). The Master Bedroom (Guess which one Doc Slept in?) offers a KING size bed while the brand new leather couch has a comfortable queen pull out. Each mattress is encased in a zipped cover for your protection.
Guests in the 'Doc Holliday Too' house are just one block from Main Street, literally around the corner from Esparza's, and two houses from one of Grapevine’s many Wine Tasting rooms. Play it safe by not driving or walking long distances after enjoying your days at many Wineries, Festivals, and award winning restaurants along Main Street.
Don't miss a ride on Grapevine's Vintage Railroad traveling to Fort Worth's Historic Stockyards for an unbelievable feel of the old west. Enjoy a leisure ride on the Grapevine Tour Bus and Grapevine Wine Tour Bus or grab a famous Esparza’s Margarita on your journey to Main Street (which is only four houses down), or stroll back to Doc Holiday's house after an encouraging pitcher.
Safely park your vehicle and leave it for the rest of your stay. No need to drive when you can walk to the fun vineyards, shops, restaurants and events in town. Grapevine is a fun, exciting, and safe place! Enjoy!
We love to travel around the world and only utilize VRBO (or similar) services versus hotels. We finally decided to make the leap and offer our special property to travelers with similar needs as ours. This is not our full time job but rather a conduit of enjoyment. I (Rik) juggle many different things. I have been involved in Telecommunications for over 25 years. I also restore 1969-70 Shelby Mustangs with a NASCAR team to bring a unique and limited vehicle to the road. The 'Better' half (Wife) is retired from the airlines and currently manages the house and our two daughters along with a few other properties that will hopefully become VRBO's some day (Pending the outcome of this treasure...). This is our second stab at this so your feedback is very important.
Mary Ann Holliday purchased this house in 1992
The 'Historic District' within Historic Grapevine is where “its” all happening. No question that all the action is within the Historic District and the 'Doc Holliday' house is smack dab in the middle. Have you ever heard the phrase, “6 Degrees of Separation”? Well this story is more like 2 degrees of separation. I purchased a home from an older lady years ago whom was born and raised in Grapevine. She has since passed and would be pushing 100 if still alive. During the closing process of the house transaction, she noticed my name (Richard Holliday). She asked me if I was, “Kin” to Doc Holliday. I explained that I was and went through the story...She then shared with me that her aunt owned a house and rented a room to Doc Holliday for two months. She put me in contact with the current owner of the house of which I approached (They didn’t know the story) and I asked them if they had an interest in selling. They contacted me months later as they decided to move out West. The transaction was complete and I now own a house that my Great Great Great Grandfather slept in.

This was our second time to stay at the Doc Holliday House Too and it did not disappoint. The owners are very conscientious and provide everything you could possibly need. In addition, Grapevine is decorated beautifully at Christmas time and has so many shopping and entertainment options. We highly recommend it.
I surprised my wife with a weekend getaway to Grapevine for our 10th year anniversary. She is somewhat of a hotel-a-phobe, so I found and made plans to stay at the Doc Holliday House Too. I had many surprises for her planned for the weekend, but booking this house was the best decision of the trip. The location alone was worth it, we walked back and forth from restaurants, wineries, shopping, and entertainment all weekend. And we never drove more than 3 miles to go to the Gaylord, attend church on Sunday, and see eat at a great steakhouse recommended by the owners. But the décor and attention to detail set this place apart. The owners have thought of it all, and add all sorts of personal touches to make your stay special. I could go on and on about all the little things that stood out and impressed me, but you should go see for yourself. The owners are very accessible and accommodating, here are a few examples: allowed us an early check-in and late check-out, provided detailed useful information about what was available (I had read that there were various items like toothbrushes and shampoo available if needed, and low and behold I left me deodorant behind. No worries, brand new deodorant available for me to use onsite), and even offered to ship the shoes I left at the house to me (seems I'm getting forgetful!). The snacks were nice, I needed a ziplock bag once and quickly found one, a bottle of wine was waiting on us upon arrival, and overall I can't find anything negative to say or offer any recommendations, it was just right. Thanks and we will return next year, if not before.
Doc Holliday TOO is such a charming spot! Location was great, close to fun shops and great restaurants. Enjoyed meeting the owners....customer service plus! Already planning a return trip!
What an amazing home. Words can't describe the experience, everything we needed and many items we would never have thought of were thoughtfully provided. I'll never stay anywhere else when visiting anyplace in the Dallas area! Thank you, thank you!
Great, quiet little neighborhood. Everyone out walking, enjoying the evening. House was built many years ago, but the attention to detail by the owners made our stay perfect. Could not have asked for a better host. The property is close to Main St and provided access to a number of restaurants and shops. Try Tolbert's. Their chicken fried steak was awesome.
Wow, the place looks even better than the photos and the layout and the amenities were the best, you don,t need anything ,the owner thought of everything a person would need and she had it there ,the place is beautiful and very clean., This is a getaway dream, inside and out, beautiful front and back porch ad all your barbeque needs were provided. I love that this place was in the heart of the downtown district and we could walk to everything, shops, eating, and site seeing .You don't even have to go far to find. restaurants We had a ball. I will be going back ,over and over again, and I have already recommended this place to several people.
1 Block to Historic Main Street. There are no other properties or hotels closer than this gem. We are also located the closest to a wine tasting studio which is two houses down. Easily hop on/off the Wine Tour bus and explore 7 vineyards. Esparza's Tex Mex cafe is known as the, 'Margarita Capital of Texas', so be sure to walk up four houses and try a few of your own. Main Street is loaded with a bunch of cool eclectic shops and outstanding eateries (Non big box types).
