'Boston Farm' is situated on the tip of a peninsula on Trappe Creek, which opens to the Choptank River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. As you make the three mile drive down the lane through this 30 acre property, you will feel like you've turned back the clock to the 1700's when 'Boston' was built. Although completely modernized to today's standards, times of grandeur become vividly apparent as you approach this eastern shore jewel. If you prefer to arrive by boat via Trappe Creek, you may tie up at the dock that affords 6 feet of depth at mean low tide. After your arrival you can have a swim in the pool or explore the sandy beach at the water's edge. The dock invites you to fish or crab, or you can take the kayak out to visit the osprey. Later in the day, you can enjoy a wonderful meal that's been prepared in the beautiful new, gourmet kitchen. The huge, glassed in porch provides the perfect place for contemplation and dining while watching the sunsets.
Wildlife flourish on the property – white-tailed deer, baby rabbits, and an osprey family have had a residence near the swimming pool, and on the buoy off the dock.
Close to Easton, yet very private waterfront. This 30 acre waterfront estate (adjacent to 200 farmed acres) dates back to the 1700's where guests can enjoy total relaxation while being surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.
So much to do in our area. You will find fine antiques; eclectic art galleries; numerous public golf courses; the splendid Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries in their backyard for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and crabbing; an historic Town Center with Colonial and Victorian architecture; and an active local community that welcomes new ideas and enthusiasm. Enjoy our fabulous outdoor weather. Easton offers visitors the opportunity to indulge in a wide variety of outdoor activities: golf on one of five golf courses; skeet shooting; visit nearby refuges and watch eagles soar and catch a glimpse of other local wildlife, cycle the Tred Avon Circle, or explore the local flora and fauna of our gardens. Evening entertainment is diverse and includes theatrical performances; music venues; Easton’s Cinema; bowling; pub-crawling, and a wide variety of restaurants to please any palate and fit any price range.”
This property is beautiful and serene and peaceful....surrounded by Trappe River and fields. The house has great character and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Charming and gracious. The sunroom is very very large and well furnished with wicker blue and white seating and large family tables. Very comfortable. The kids spend two days in the pool all day. The kitchen is well stocked and convenient to porch. This would be a WONDERFUL property for an art retreat and school similar to Hudson River Valley Art Center. It has a VERY LARGE BARN that could also be accessed. I would LOVE to come here with my quilt, art or knitting groups. There are chairs to seat many comfortably. I am going to refer this to those friends. It would make a lovely setting for a wedding or family reunion. If I were younger I would do one of those things with it!!!!! The ideas I had for it were flowing. Such a lovely home and place to stay..........come see for yourself!
Our family enjoyed the most relaxing, while active, vacation in years. This authentic historic Eastern Shore home offers the charm of 18th century living, along with modern comforts. Fireplaces throughout and many books give the warm feeling of home and casual elegance.
There is plenty of room for a large family or group. The exquisite expansive enclosed/screened porch offers panoramic views of the pool, lawn and laTrappe Creek. It also offers various seating areas for family and friends to gather for meals or enjoy the views and glimpses of wildlife- deer, eagles and ospreys.
The kitchen is lovely, modern and well equipped with easy access to the stately dining room or casual dining area on the porch.
The numerous bedrooms with private baths are roomy, very charming and beautifully decorated.
It was easy to tie up at the long dock and we were well located for motoring to Oxford, Cambridge, or the Chesapeake Bay, The fishing was great fun as there is deep water all around the area.
The owner could not have been more accommodating and checked several times to see that we had all we needed to enjoy the experience. We did!!
We would indeed return any time of year or recommend this unique, very private and lovely home for other vacationers.
Of course, the Easton area is rife with diversions. You’ll find a number of brochures on hand that may help guide you in your daytime excursions. From a popular website that describes what’s happening in our local community:
“Easton, Maryland, 'the 8th Best Small Town in America' is only 8 miles from 'Boston', and is an arts and cultural center with a population 15,000+ individuals who love living in a small town that offers the best of many worlds: casual and gourmet dining; shopping for all budgets.
