Sophie’s Cottage is tucked at the edge of the village which keeps life peaceful and secluded even though the heart of Sutton’s Bay (beaches,marina, restaurants, shops and movie theater) are only a three-minute walk away. Launch your boat at the municipal marina or enjoy the kids park and pristine public beaches. The trail head for the famous TART bike trail is only a two-minute ride and destinations like Leland, Lake Leelanau, Northport, Glen Arbor, Empire and Traverse City are all just minutes by car.
Autumn is one of the most spectacular times to experience 'The County' and with two wood burning fireplaces you will stay cozy inside as the fall leaves put on their show outside.
Wine tours are another big draw during this season and Sophie's Cottage is perched right in the middle of Leelanau wine country!
This cottage home was built in 2002 with family and fun in mind. There is plenty of outdoor living to enjoy thanks to an expansive covered porch that may be used rain or shine. The south porch offers outdoor dining with a teak table and chairs. It is located just off the indoor dining room so it is perfect for the kids table! French doors in the lower level open up to a large grotto with outdoor furniture for sunbathing, relaxing or entertaining. A large stainless Weber gas grill cooks enough food for family and friends and the patio table with umbrella serves as another perfect outdoor dining spot.
The gourmet galley kitchen comes with granite counter tops, Sub-Zero refrigerator, 6-burner Wolf range, Asko dishwasher and Inca-Pro venting system for all you chefs out there. A microwave oven, toaster and blender are also offered for your convenience.
The kitchen opens up to the living area with a cottage style stone fireplace and a dining area surrounded by glass. There is also a large island with four stools for additional seating.
The master bedroom is located off of the kitchen and opens to a covered deck that looks over the grotto and expansive yard. The master bathroom and walk-in closet are located behind the bedroom and are kept private from other guests. The master garden tub is surrounded by windows and sheer shades for privacy.
Two bedrooms in the upper level share a large bathroom with the vanity sink kept separate from the toilet and tub for privacy. The lower level has a second living area and fireplace that is open to a small office area. The house is fully equipped with a secured wireless internet. Pass codes will be provided upon check-in. The signal is excellent throughout the entire house but a household computer is not provided so don't forget your laptop!
The fourth bedroom has an attached full bath with a glass/stone shower. This is considered the garden level and there is plenty of natural light with a generous amount of windows.
Dogs may be considered; an additional $75.00 pet fee is required.
There is plenty of room to park your boat and trailer on the large driveway and a garage to store your bikes. If you enjoy basketball or tennis, the public courts are only a block away. We also have several golf courses close by in the county.
