|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
Experience the tranquility and charm of this early California hacienda. Hacienda Las Palmas dates back to the golden Hollywood era; its even rumored that Katherine Hepburn and director, George Cukor used it as their desert oasis. The six bedroom home was lovingly restored in 2007, but still retains its traditional Spanish design elements such as clay tile roofs, an arched breezeway and classic coral-rose hues.
Spend easy days by the pool where designer chaise longues look out to stunning views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Youll also find cushioned lounge sets around the terrace and under the shelter of the cabana tent. Stroll the grounds and appreciate the meticulously landscaped gardens. Discover more seating and an al fresco dining table under the picturesque breezeway, where you can enjoy feasts prepared on the barbecue. In the evening, ease into the whirlpool and watch the night sky come alive with stars.
Inside, wood-beamed ceilings, paver floors and whitewash walls create a traditional backdrop, while an eclectic mix of displays and pieces reflect a more contemporary feel. Much of the furniture, including a travertine dining table and cabinetry, has been imported from across the globe, enhancing the worldly ambiance. The gourmet kitchen was inspired by French countryside estates while the cozy living room features a lovely stucco fireplace.
From the Master bedroom youll enjoy a mountain-view through large picture windows and the spa-quality en-suite includes premium fixtures, plus an al fresco shower. The second suite is equally well-appointed and both open directly out to an open-air spa. The main home houses two more spacious guestrooms. The remaining two rooms are found at the opposite end of the breezeway, in a casita. The casita features a shared living room, wet bar and bathroom.
You wont have to look far for activities in Palm Springs. Start with a stroll around Vista Las Palmas and the Movie Colony neighborhoods and experience mid-century homes that drew Hollywoods elite to the desert. The Coachella Valley is home to over 80 golf courses set against breathtaking backdrops. Youll also find national parks with hikes for all skill levels. Shop and dine at the eclectic shops and restaurants along Palm Canyon Drive.

Overall we had a great stay at the Hacienda Las Palmas. We had plenty of room for our group and enjoyed the outdoor space to the fullest. We made full use of the kitchen, which is where much of the updating is needed. We were able to enjoy ourselves in a unique home on a wonderful piece of property.
Outside area is great. The interior could use some updating. And you make it clear that the bedrooms are divided up 2, 2, and 2. We thought it was 1, 3 and 2 so it was challenging figuring out who was sleeping where with all of the kids.
We celebrated our parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary complete with 10 adults and 3 children. PROS: The home is wonderful for families because it has plenty of space for large gatherings. The rooms are spread out enough so that when privacy is needed, you can certainly get it. The property itself is large and very private, so you really feel removed from everything. The rooms are very well outfitted with comfortable beds/linens. CONS: Kitchen is small, but functional. I only list this because we always found ourselves congregating in the kitchen, but felt very cramped in doing so. The largest dining table only seats 8, which was a bit problematic but doable. OVERALL: The estate is lovely, the pool is wonderful, and it's truly a place where you won't want to leave. We only left for groceries and necessities; dinners were either catered or cooked for us, which I highly recommend.
It was a relaxing and beautiful home. A couple of the beds were a little too firm and there was some ants in the kitchen. Overall we had a lovely stay and the pool was awesome.
Palm Springs is everything we imagine and Luxury Retreats made the decision easy. Everyone was professional, courteous and the quality of service was exemplary. My family enjoyed our time together in such a beautiful setting.
