Home Sweet Home !

March, 2010
My wife and I have been visiting the Caribbean and Bahamas for 40 years and have seen most of them, for a week at a time, not on cruise ships for 30 minutes. 35 years ago we visited Long Island and stayed at Little Dead Man's Cay and we vowed then to return. We finally got around to it in 2003 and stayed at en eco resort where we met George Rathgeber. George was building his Island Dream, and invited us to visit the site. We kept in touch for 3 more years, 2006 and then made a visit and finally met Mari, but we had to stay at one of his neighbors homes, which George arranged for us as his place was not quite finished. We returned in 2008 and stayed in one of the guest houses and then again in 2010. We had decided this is the place to be and were going to visit every other year, until last March, when we said, “Every year, from now on”. Our next visit is in November, only 8 months since our last visit.
We have made friends with a lot of George and Mari's friends, who party a LOT, and they all make us feel like best friends after one visit!
We have explored the Island from one end to the other, 80 miles, and have found some of the most amazing beaches in this part of the world, and some of the most interesting people, who are also just as interested in us, and why we are visiting their home.
It is with mixed feelings that I am writing this as I really don't want anyone else to visit and maybe take my slot at "Whymsical Wish", but on the other hand, George and Mari have put so much soul into this place, it would be a waste not to share it with others.
We love you both, thanks for the privilege of becoming your friends.
