A complete remodel of the kitchen and dining room made this 1930's bungalow a real treat for vacationers! Granite counter tops and stainless appliances attest to the quality of the home, while the fantastic old double hung windows and cedar plank walls of the living room and bedrooms retain the original woodsy craftsman feel of the home.

Numerous windows and the Deck look out on the spectacular spring creek tumbling at the base of a Giant Sequoia, Huge Cedars and Massive Pines. Flowering Dogwood trees grace the creeks edge along with Wood Ducks, turtles and other small wildlife.

Relaxing in this home may turn out to be your favorite part of the vacation!

About The Owner

Hello! We are Michael and Colleen Roady of Redding California. We have been together and married for over 20 years. We had our two children while living in our Viola Home and we decided to keep that special house even after moving to town to be near schools. Last year we discovered we greatly enjoyed having guest in our Viola home so when I spotted this creek-side home, I did everything I could do to buy it! With a little luck and lots of prayer, its your and mine to enjoy!

Enjoyed our stay, but I still miss my pillow.

Well kept home and we enjoyed our stay. A few suggestions: request quicker response by the owner during the securing of the home, left pillow and requested it to be mailed to me (I'd pay the shipping fee) and no response, and back screen door was not secure.

Such a beautiful home in the most peaceful setting. Enjoyed by the whole family. The gurgling water and chirping birds made the most relaxing afternoons! Evenings were just perfect - so many stars and clear skies......The owner is most gracious and just a real pleasure to work with. Gave us some wonderful tips on planning our days. Driving to Burney Falls is a must! Great Vacation, Thanks Michael!

Enchanting

An enchanting cabin next to a rushing stream. We were delighted to find a log fire burning in the stove when we arrived and with regular stoking we were able to keep the fire going throughout our stay. The cabin was warm and welcoming. The sight and sound of the stream rushing past the back door and fire pit will be an enduring memory of our break.
Our host was invisible but responsive making us feel very welcome.
Lassen NP was just a short drive away however at the end of May the road through the Park was still closed but it was worth the 50 mile drive to get to the other gateway.

Great cottage close to Lassen

This is a pretty cottage, about 15 minutes from the NW entrance to Lassen, in Shingletown CA. It was the perfect getaway for our family and friends. A little tight for the 12 of us, but comfortable nevertheless. A pretty creek flows behind the cottage (see the pic above), and there's plenty of creekside seating provided. A great deck overlooking the creek. We really did not need to go to the park to have fun !

The owner was exceptionally helpful, sending us latest pics of the place showing weather, and being extremely patient with our lost group in the middle of the night.

Wonderful place to stay

This place is well-maintained and very clean! What we really like about this place is that It's located right by stream and there is a nice fire area, where we enjoyed making smores and watching stars. The owner is very nice! We would really like to go back there again! ?(^o^)?
