We love exploring in the desert and hiking
We love the architecture and the history of the home. The house is modernism at it's best. Clean lines and walls of glass. It is very peaceful and quiet with views of the mountains and the house is extremely comfortable with quality beds and fine linens.
Steve purchased this house in 2011
We love the neighborhood. We can easily walk a couple of blocks to Kofi coffeshop or the trendy Ace Hotel. We can also walk to the smoke tree shopping area for great resturants-- the best Vegan Resturant in town. Also authentic Vietnamese Resturant and new pizza and pasta. Close to everything yet very quiet neighborhood.
One of the best things about our house is that it is so quiet. Three large bedrooms and three baths.
Pulling up to the home it is framed with one of the most beautiful mountain vistas. Once inside it just welcomes you. For a 1600 sf floor plan every inch is utilized and designed for efficiency and beauty. What struck me was the use of windows to frame the mountains and views and capture the daylight that lit the home up like a perfect gem! The house was so quiet and comfortable. the kitchen was a wonderful experience using the original pink wall stove and stove top. Simplicity and elegance and the beauty of Mid Century architecture gives you a warm feeling and enhanced living experience. The pool and fire pit were great listening to Burt Bacharach music took us alll back to the mid sixties. It is a wonderful home to visit ample space yet everything is a short stride in the home to get to.This home being the former Ray Bradbury Palm Springs getaway home made it all that more special. It was great and would highly recommend this home.
We had a fantastic time. Very authentic & original. House was like a home. Beds were really comfy. Pool was awesome. Secure & private garden. Steve, the owner was really helpful. Walking distance to coffee shop & upmarket bar/cafe. Very quite neighborhood. Highly recommend this property. What you see in the pics & description is representative of what you will find. Will be back for sure. Thank you Steve!
Spent Christmas at the Bradbury home with friends and family. We had a great time!! Very 'period', so if you're into Mid-Century, this is a perfect place to stay. The owners even put up a Christmas Tree, to make our stay more festive. Great pool and location too!!
We fell in love with the Bradbury. The house is bright, clean and beautifully furnished. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked. There is a nice collection of DVDs and CDs and great picture books about Palm Springs and mid-century modern architecture - some featuring the Bradbury. The Ray Bradbury memorabilia adds to the atmosphere. The pool is a real pleasure, and there is a good supply of floats in the garage. The view of the mountains is spectacular. Floating around in the pool and gazing up at the mountains, palm trees and crystal blue sky - it doesn't get much better. And knowing that one of the world's greatest science fiction authors once did his thing in the same setting makes this house a standout. The house is close to downtown Palm Springs with great shopping and restaurants, and there is a Ralph's supermarket nearby for stocking up on groceries. Steve is terrific. There was great communication, information and followup. He was also very nice about stopping by to help us when we were challenged by the lockbox upon arrival (lesson learned - pry open the front panel of the lockbox, don't try to pull the loop out like a comination lock!). The interaction from start to finish was seamless and we had a memorable and stress-free stay. We highly recommend the Bradbury!
this house. this house is everything you've ever wanted in mid-century excellence. A+ for costumer service, as well. stop looking; this is the one.
We had a wonderful stay during my family's spring break. We had 4 adults and a toddler and the size of the house was perfect. The pool was the main reason we rented the house and the fact that it could be heated. Of course, when we went to heat the pool, it didn't work. However, Steve quickly responded to the problem and had a pool guy there within the hour. It was up and running and he more than made up for the day lost of pool heat. The house is very period which we had mixed feelings about. Everything worked well, but we are used to modern bathrooms and kitchens. The kitchen was small for cooking but met our needs for the 5 night stay. Who wants to cook a big meal on vacation anyway?! The location was awesome and the neighborhood was quiet and lovely. We would definitely stay there again.
