Yet, if you Google map 188 Perkins Street, Castine Maine it takes you right to the correct front door of the Abel Rogers House. We have tried without success to get this corrected, Google just isn't perfect.
Castine is conveniently located for day-trips to Mt Desert Island (Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park), the Belfast/Camden/Rockland area, Deer Isle/Stonington, and Bangor for shopping and airline connections. Activities available in Castine include golf, tennis, sailing, kayaking, bicycling, and walking in Witherle Woods or on the streets of the village lined with elms. There are many signs pointing out historical features as well as a beach area. The Maine Maritime Academy, an integral part of the community, provides a fitness center with pool, and training ship at the waterfront where visitors are welcome. There is a variety of music and theater programs including town band concerts on the village green. Castine also has many programs for children of all ages. There are local shops and galleries and several dining options. Live music is available several nights each week during the summer and fall.
