Many guests have stayed in our beach house, each time, their number one comment, as they walk into the great room and see Lake Michigan sparkling out the windows, “Your photos don’t capture how beautiful this is!”. Our guests sum up our beach house better than we can. It truly is a spectacular place. It is newly decorated in Pottery Barn throughout with a “beach house casual” vibe. Original art hang on the white paneled walls. The kitchen is well equipped, with new appliances, and a new washer and dryer in the laundry closet. Each bedroom has comfy new beds with extra pillows of all types, blankets, comforters, and plenty of towels and beach towels.
The best place in the house is actually outside on the wide veranda-style porch that faces Lake Michigan to the west with four white rockers for reading and watching spectacular sunsets. We also have an outdoor table and chairs for alfresco style dining.
The house sits approximately 150 feet from the water’s edge. The waves change with the wind and are just close enough to enjoy without being too loud for restful sleeping. This is a place that we have tried to make, restorative for our guests, from their daily, busy routine. We have no cable to the neighborhood and the television and DVD/VCR player are for movies, only. There is a nice library of books and movies, as well as board games, puzzles and a Bose radio/MP3 player for your musical players.
There are three bedrooms, two on the main floor with a full sized bed in one room and two twins in the other. These are separate and share a full bathroom down a hallway with a tub and shower. The upstairs of the house is entirely devoted to the master bedroom suite. It has a queen bed with pillow top mattress with an adjacent bath with double/head shower. The master bedroom looks down onto the great room. Because of this, the house is not suitable for children under 5 years old. We can accommodate six guests at one time.
We rent our beach house by the week during the summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Otherwise, we can accommodate your particular schedule during the off-season. It is a four-season house with beach and water activities in the summer, fall color tours and nearby wineries in the harvest season, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and spring hikes amongst the cherry blossoms in the spring. Come and enjoy a very special time at a spectacular place.

It was such a treat staying at this delightful cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan. Perfect for a family getaway and reconnecting. The walks along the shores yielded many searches for Petosky stones and was surprising warm for swimming. The sunsets were divine and even yielded a green flash or two. The owner was quite helpful with suggestions for sightseeing and dinners and local wineries. Loved the local Farmer's Market. A super relaxing place to unwind but in an area with lots of added attractions such as Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Leelanau Light House. The star gazing was tremendous. Would love to return one day.
I was so overwhelmed by the view from this beautiful home that it really did not seem real at first. We arrived on a spectacular Summer day in August at about 4 PM and could not believe what we saw. The house is beyond lovely and tastefully decorated which I could see on the site photos but what I was taken aback by was the scenery and how the owners placed the home on the site. The owners were accomodating and lovely to deal with. This place is such a gem that no sooner did I arrive that I was already planning my next trip back. We rented a boat and jet skis in Glen Arbor and went to many restaurants recommended by owner. Traverse City and Suttons Bay were also towns we visited. Really just a perfect Summer get away! I would highly recommend this slice of heaven but am just worried that it will be unavailable next time if I do:)
My family and I cannot thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home with us; I think my mom put it best when you called..."the place is just perfect"!
My dad also wanted me to send his gratitude; he continues to tell me every day that it's the most beautiful place he has ever seen and stayed. It meant a lot for us to hear this from my family...but at the end of the day it's all a reflection of the time and effort you've put forth to make the place so special.
I can honestly say it was one of the best (if not the best) family vacation we've had; and the memories of your home will last a lifetime.
Thanks again for sharing your paradise with my family!
My husband and I spent a week at this extraordinary beach home in August of 2010. It far exceeded our expectations! Words cannot come close to describing it's beauty and location. Whenever life and it's stresses get me down, I think of the wonderful week I spent at this wonderful place. We would highly recommend this property and plan to visit again.
Had a great stay at this quintessential beach house. Great views, fabulous sunsets, all the amenities needed for a great family vacation. Highly recommended!!
