Hyattsville, Maryland was incorporated in 1886. Hyattsville, Maryland has very easy access to Washington, DC. Written up in Washingtonian Magazine as one of the great places to live a “thriving middle-class community that’s both economically and ethnically diverse”.
Just walking distance to Starbuck's, Rite Aid, and multiple restaurants. Located one mile from College Park metro station, only one stop to University of Maryland. Also on the bus line for both Metrobus and University of Maryland Shuttle.
Hyattsville Hills Maryland is located within a wonderful suburb of Washington DC and only 8 minutes from DC by the MARC Train located just a few blocks away. This is a wonderful property for families or two couples that want to visit the Washington DC area.
Of course, the most popular reason to visit is our Nation's Capitol - Washington DC. There are more places than I can mention, but here are some of the popular ones - Smithsonian, Air & Space Museum, The White House, Georgetown, The National Gallery, Union Station (for trains, shopping and restaurants!), The National Archives are just 15 minutes from here (come and find out your own family background), College Park Airport where the Wright Brothers tested their planes (it's the oldest continually running airport in the country), and University of Maryland is just 10 minutes away.
Baltimore is just a ride away on the MARC train, which will drop you off right
Downtown and there are some amazing things to see there as well. The Baltimore Aquarium is great with a tropical rain forest, sting rays, sharks, and there is always the dolphin show. Don't sit in front or you will get WET! Annapolis, Maryland the Navy's premier college and is located just 25 minutes East of the property and the views of Chesapeake Bay can be really relaxing and there is even a beach at Sandy Point State Park.
We would recommend some GREAT local fare! Try Franklin's Brew Pub and Restaurant - Great Meals and a toy store attached to the restaurant for the kids. Carolina Kitchen for your down home cooked meals. Hanks Sports Bar has great Margarita’s and is right next to a brand new movie theater.
We love sharing our home with other families that enjoy visiting Washington DC. We have been doing this now for years and would be glad to give any information about the area. We are happy to help share our expertise of what to do while you are here.
Please don't hesitate to ask for something you need and we will do our best to take care of your request. We do have other homes available in the DC area and the Shenandoah Valley.
