Belvedere 1 is an exclusive apartments for those seeking comfort, elegance and serenity that comes up to standard with glorious views of Venice, St Mark’s Square and sunrise on the Adriatic and sunset over the majestic Venice skyline. You get all this without stepping out of the apartment! The windows in the living room and the master bedroom open on to the Adriatic from where the Grand Canal starts to weave inbound. The apartment is spacious, yet cosy, relaxing with open spaces, luxurious furnishings, wooden floors, air-conditioning and lift (elevator) in the building (unusual for a building that is over 200 hundred years old).
Belvedere 2 is a studio for 2 persons overlooking via Garibaldi. It is situated on the same floor as Belvedere 1.
The Belvedere apartments: If you go out the door behind the building, you are in via Garibaldi, the ‘widest’ street in Venice and a delightful string of open-air cafes and restaurants, bazaar, fresh fish and vegetables and of course Gelato, everywhere. We rent per month too ( 2500,00 Euro for Belvedere 1, 1000,00 Euro for the studio Belvedere 2).
Places and suggestions: The Lido of Venice: In just two vaporetto stops from the apartment, you can reach the Lido island with its elegant Liberty style Villas and the prestigious Alberoni golf club, the nice beaches and the long tree lined boulevards. At the beginning of September there is the famous International Film Festival. *** The Giardini: The Gardens of Venice, the fresh green lung of the city, can be reached with a two- minute walk from the Belvedere apartment. They host the international exhibition pavilions for the Biennial of Contemporary Art and Architecture. *** The islands of the Lagoon: From Riva degli Schiavoni, a few steps away from the apartment, you will find the vaporettos that lead to the splendid islands of Murano (glass production), Burano (lace embroidery) and Torcello (Romanesque abbey church): to witness the architectural and artistic treasures of the Venetian Lagoon is an experience that should not be missed.
How to reach us: We suggest that you contact us as soon as you arrive in Venice: *** From the airport: From the Marco Polo airport of Venice, take the Alilaguna public boat service that, in less than one hour, will bring you directly to the Arsenale, just a few steps away from the Belvedere Apartment. *** From the Piazzale Roma -car park: If you arrive by car, you can park in the Municipal parking garage or in a private attended parking lot. To reach the apartment from Piazzale Roma, you can take the Vaporetto public boat service numbers 1 or 82 and get off at the Giardini or Arsenale stop. You can also take the boat service numbered 51 or 41 and get off at the Giardini stop. *** From the Santa Lucia Train Station: If you arrive by train to reach the apartment, you can take the 1 or 82 boat and get off at the Arsenale or Giardini stops. Otherwise, you can also take the boat service numbered 51 or 41 and get off at the Giardini stop.
This review is for the Belvedere 2, the studio located on the first floor (European), second floor (US). This was a pleasant and good sized studio in a fully refurbished building (unusual for Venice). The building interiors have been remodeled in a modern architectural style. The apartment has double paned windows on two sides, has tall ceilings, and is well lit in the daytime. The kitchen is housed in a cabinet system, is adequately equipped, but very compact. However, I was able to cook complete meals and it was nice to be able to close the doors and not feel I was sleeping in the kitchen. The bathroom is large and clean. The studio has two twin beds so it is appropriate for two people.
Location was excellent. It is right off Via Garibaldi where it meets the San Marco Canal. The street is the broadest, straightest street in Venice and is quite clean. The bakery, butcher, produce market, and general market were all a short stroll from the apartment and easy to find. The area has an open feel and was quite a relief to return to after a day of poking through Venice’s alleys. There are cafés and snack bars with open air dining within a few yards of the door. It is only two bridges from the Arsenale stop where both the local vaporetto and Alilaguna airport boat stop.
The Owner met me at the waterbus stop and walked me to the building even though my flight arrived late in the evening. He was pleasant and provided instruction on how to use the apartment. There were no added charges unlike other places (no late arrival fees, utility fees, etc.). Clean linens were provided as were soaps, detergents, even some useful condiments in the kitchen.
Overall a very pleasant stay and I will certainly consider returning here again.
We stayed in Belvedere 1 (two bedroom). This was a wonderful and quiet location to stay while visiting Venice. The view of the lagoon is looking out the windows! The apartment was clean and relatively large. The owner is very easy to work with and was prompt in meeting us. It was a very convenient location because we were a short walk from San Marco square and yet did not have to deal with the crowds and noise. There is a bank on the first floor and a cafe next door that closed by 10 PM. We enjoyed watching the ships travel in and out of the lagoon. The pictures displayed are accurate.
This place was great! The pictures of the view are accurate and simply do not do it justice until you experience it. The owner is very hospitable and made us feel right at home. The apartment is very spacious and clean. It is only a 10 minute walk to San Marco. It is just far enough away to be convenient, yet quiet at night because it is away from all the crowds. Very close to a waterbus stop which enables you to get around easily. I will definitely book this far in advance if I am able to get back to Venice one day. Thanks again!
The apartments, located between the Arsenale and the Venetian Biennale Gardens, can be conveniently reached with the public Vaporetto boat service and they are an 8-minute walk from San Marco's square.
Golf: The Lido of Venice is also known for its international golf club (Golf Club Alberoni), inaugurated in 1930 by Count Giuseppe Volpi and built on the site of an historic military fort. Due to its meandering 18 holes carved through green pastures and pine trees, the course is today considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.
