This is a quite, private, maintained Historical Ranch House. A place to relax & enjoy family, friends, and yes of course the Facilities...
As you drive up the property you will notice an historical school on your left, This is when you realize your about to experience something very special. The road takes you across the cattle guard with 20 plus Oak Trees towering over you from both sides of the road. You will notice cattle grazing on the left but your attention will keep you staring right...
The right side of the road sits the Historical Home with the Texas Flag welcoming you into the Gate. The home is surrounded by wooden fence to keep the cattle out. The Barn opens into a Large Party Barn with walk around decks, inside has Pool Table, ping pong table, neon signs, 3 flat screen TVs, frig, music, etc... 'kids really enjoy it and it allows the adults to relax back at the main house'.
The trees light up at night around the pool and the Covered Terrace. The Terrace has a large outdoor grill as well as a fire pit for the kids to sit around at night. The hot tub seems to be a nice touch at the end of the evening as well. The tennis court is a full size court so be sure to bring your racquets. Horse shoes and washers are a daily sport as well as biking and walking the property. Bring your bucket to fill with pecans also...

Marc & Marta Chase purchased this house in 2005
Fell in Love with Property from the moment we stepped in the Front Door. Above is two pictures of the home from the early 1900's. The home has a true sense of History and how life might have been before Cell Phones and Direct TV.
This property allows us the opportunity to escape the fast lifestyle of the City and Relax under the stars in the Country without the kids complaining their 'bored'!
We had such a great time at the house. The house is beautiful. I'm hoping to rent again in the summer with my family. Thank you so much!
A group of 10 of us traveled from Austin to Fredericksburg to hike Enchanted Rock and stay at this property for a little getaway. We only did one night, and we all wish we stayed longer. Within an hour of arriving, Harrison showed up asking if we could use any help - very nice guy.
The house was great and the amenities even better - we played tennis, used the grill, hung out in the "party barn", relaxed in the hot tub, etc. The outdoor area of this house is almost unbeatable. I would highly recommend for any group.
We will definitely be back.
Four couples stayed at this property for a weekend. Unfortunately, we needed a few more days to fully enjoy everything provided! (We were winery hopping all day Saturday.) It was too cool to really enjoy the pool but we did get to use the hot tub and the pool area which was wonderful! We never got the chance to enjoy the party barn but it looked like fun. The house was charming. The two rooms upstairs were awkward to get into and around and was pretty warm, but were fine. The lighting in the upstairs bathroom was so poor, we had to shower downstairs. The main bathroom was large and ample with an adorable tub! There wasn't nearly enough light in the kitchen. It was difficult to see to cook in the evening. It is understandable though with a house that age but addressing the lighting issues and maybe putting ceiling fans in the bedrooms that don't have them would make a great stay nearly perfect! The large dining room and table was a lovely place for us all to sit and eat together and enjoy our wine, steaks and each other's company! All and all, we throughly enjoyed our brief stay! We've already decided we are coming back, we'll bring our own wine, skip the overcrowded wineries and just relax and enjoy the property, scenery and that wonderful front porch, and less time in town!
We rented this lovely home for family across the state to meet and enjoy Thanksgiving together. We had a wonderful time. The house itself is interesting and historic. Felt like going back in time, but with all of the modern amenities! There was so much to do on the property. We played tennis, ping pong, pool, washers, horse shoes, and soaked in the hot tub. We saw deer and jack rabbits, and enjoyed watching the cows, sheep, and goats in neighboring pastures. We loved relaxing and rocking on the porch. It was so peaceful. Enchanted Rock is only about 15 minutes away and made for a nice day outing, as well as going into Fredericksburg to walk and shop main street. Trade Days was a longer drive away, but great for finding antiques, jewelry and great crafts. We had such a marvelous time at this property. Harrison, the caretaker, was attentive and helpful. Lots of great Texas artifacts in the house. Really a wonderful place and I would highly recommend it.
Spent a three day weekend here with 8 other close girlfriends and it was fabulous! The house and property were amazing and we will definitely be back. I also highly recommend George's 290 Wine Tours. We had a great time in their Excursion limo and the wineries were wonderful.
A group of us went to Fredericksburg for a bachelorette party -- our goal was to have a great wine tour and have a fun, yet relaxing weekend in the Hill Country. The house was perfect for our trip goals. The house had plenty of beds, and we all fit comfortably. The setting is ideal, with the tree-lined road to the house, the cozy front porch equipped with a swing, the pool and hot tub, and tennis court. What more could you ask for? The wine tour we scheduled had no problem picking us up from the house, even though it is about 10 miles outside of town. The minus (although plus for me) was that Verizon cell phones did not work in the house, but we could walk down to the fence to get service. I personally enjoyed being a bit cut off on our weekend. Harrison, the groundskeeper, was extremely helpful and very nice. He showed us how to properly work the hot tub, and brought us items that the house was missing right away. Overall, we had a great stay and I would highly recommend this property if you want to get away, without loosing the amenities!
