My husband and I rented this house for a mini honeymoon right after our wedding. We were looking for someplace quiet and relaxing and found exactly that! The owners were excellent and responsive to emails and the house is spotlessly clean! The kitchen had everything you may need and we enjoyed a lot of meals there. Unfortunately we had a rainy week and missed out on using the outdoor patio and grill as much as we would have liked, but the indoor fireplace was put to good use. We had deer pass through the backyard and had a clear night of stargazing and saw the most amazing meteor! The house is in a great location - secluded but with neighbors down the road, also close to many of the areas we were familiar with from weekend trips (and close to grocery shopping in Margaretville). We spent a day at the Emerson Spa, dinner at Peekamoose, explored Delhi (excellent lunch at Blue Bee Café), took a ride on the Arkville train, visited the Pakatakan Farmers market and headed over to the Windham area for horseback riding (Rough Riders Ranch). This was our first week long vacation in 10 years and I think we are both convinced to do it more often! We cannot wait to return, hopefully soon!
We were very happy with our stay in this three bedroom house in Fleischmann's.
The house sits in a large lot with uninterrupted, beautiful views of the surrounding hills, on the edge of the Catskills. The house feels very private with no other houses in close proximity, and as a result of its design gets a lot of light throughout the day. There is a small patio with an outdoor eating area and a gas grill.
The house is decorated simply and elegantly and was well stocked. The bathrooms and kitchen all worked fine and the fireplace, which dominates the living room, worked well.
The owners were responsive and constructive.
