Coming from Los Angeles, each of us respectively work in art direction and set decoration for film, tv and print. We both come from a philosophy of 'undecorate', putting a focus on function and comfort above a mass of stuff. We want to share that here in the open skies of the desert and provide a space that is extremely comfortable, luxuriously livable, and aesthetically interesting without being overly 'done'.
We chose Palm Springs because of the comfort it provides us, the small towness of it, warm smiles from friendly people, easy driving with no metered parking (coming from LA, this is like a daily massage!), a natural landscape just beyond the city that is other worldly and sublime...all this with the benefits of restaurants, bars, museums, culture, shopping, and more that feels straight from the city.
Things we love:
the sky is amazing and never lets you down. during the day, there is almost always some cloud form drama making its way across the sky...we joke it's some sort of UFO camouflage, but that's for you to decide. you can see countless stars from the hot tub! And every sunset behind the mountain leaves us breathless.
Lemonade made fresh from the meyer lemon tree!...and a splash of vodka?
we love a morning swim in the pool, a massage at the house with a rain shower in the indoor/ outdoor shower after, and warming in the evening next to the fire pit.
Ruth Hardy Park is a fabulous walking neighborhood with easy walking to groceries, coffee, window shopping and pizza and a glass of wine from Birba.
And all the glorious hikes in the area!!!
Located a short walk passed Frank Sinatra’s old house, through the neighborhood they once called “little Beverly Hills” to Ruth Hardy Park, perfect for picnics, taking a walk with fido, free tennis and basketball courts and a wonderful playground for kids. From there it is only a few more blocks to Palm Springs’ design district on Palm Canyon Drive for tons of great shopping and dinning. The Palm Springs Museum is nearby. We are situated an easy couple of blocks off the many official bike touring loops the city of palm spring has established. But that would mean you’d have to leave this great house!!!
