With tasteful decor and a Mexican colonial style, Caribbean Casa is situated directly on the seawalk overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The location could not be better! Close to town and yet just on the edge of the activity so that you can enjoy the tranquil view with a drink or a snack from one of your own private, furnished balconies.
There are two apartments in the casa. Casita Isladise is the second and third level with kitchen, living room, king size bedroom with ensuite and an extra-large walk-in shower. Three terraces include a sunset terrace accessed from the bedroom with loungers, chairs, plunge pool and gorgeous views of sunsets over the ocean and the lights of Cancun. A second terrace also accessed from the bedroom faces east for sunrise views over the Caribbean Sea each morning. Downstairs, the living room, sitting area and kitchen all have unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea and a third furnished terrace is accessed through sliding doors from the living room. The kitchen and dining area have everything you need to prepare full course meals or snacks and a comfortable daybed couch for relaxing or for an extra adult guest or child to sleep on. Enjoy the lounger, chairs and hammock on the living room's ocean front terrace for wonderful views and breezes day and night. Both bathrooms in Casita Isladise have walk-in showers with hand painted Mexican sinks and tiling.
Casita Sonrisa is a studio apartment on the main floor of the casa with a large kitchen, sitting area, 3 piece bathroom with walk-in shower and the advantage of the king size bed facing large glass windows with stunning views of the ocean and morning sunrises. The oceanfront terrace is furnished with lounger, chairs and hammock with private access through a wrought iron gate to the malecon for an easy walk to town or the beach. Throughout the casita, the hand painted tiling is continued into the kitchen and living areas with a wonderful color scheme that is authentic and pleasing. Both casitas have air conditioning, ceiling fans, wireless internet, cable tv with dvd option, clock radios, extra linens, beach towels, blow dryers and large modern safes. Housekeeping is once a week, but if you would like more than that, please contact us. Neat and tidy and professionally managed on island by Capi's Property Management, you will be well taken care of by the guest representative who will meet you at the casa and introduce you to your new casita for a worry free start to your vacation. We are a semi-retired couple and discovered Isla Mujeres while we were travelling around the Yucatan. The turquoise water, white sand beaches and the sunsets were stunning. We enjoy the friendly people that we meet on the island and also the wonderful restaurants and relaxed atmosphere while walking through town and the safety we feel everywhere on Isla Mujeres. The beaches are outstanding with their palm trees, white coral sand and azure waters. The restaurants and beach bars that dot the shoreline are perfect for a relaxing getaway. We are constantly impressed by the view of the ocean from the casa and feel very blessed to be able to share this with you.
The Owner purchased this townhome in 2011
We enjoy the unobstructed view of the ocean and the Caribbean breezes. We love the cleanliness and location of the Caribbean Casa. We like that the Navy Store with all the great prices and good selection of wine and beer as well as many other staple items, is just across the street. The access to the sea walk from the Caribbean Casa is such a bonus for a relaxing stroll to some of the famous beaches on Isla Mujeres as well as a very enjoyable walk into Centro. The people of Isla Mujeres are some of the kindest and most gentle people we have ever met and it is a wonderful destination for a relaxing caribbean holiday. Renting a golfcart is a fun way to see the entire island and bikeriding is also another option. Running or walking the sea walk and the coast of the island is something that we do everyday and we look forward to it each morning. Waking up and watching the sunrise is a marvelous way to start the day - and it's amazing to only have to open your eyes and watch the wonder without even getting out of bed!
We are so grateful that we were encouraged to travel to Isla Mujeres for our honeymoon. Now we understand why everyone we know who comes here keeps on coming back! Your Caribbean Casa is beautiful, comfortable, convenient, and the views are magnificent. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home with us. We enjoyed every scond of our honeymoon - even the tropical storm and flooding :)
Thank you so much for everything ~ God Bless!
It was our first time on the Island and what a neat blessing for the two of us. The suite was beautiful in every way. Going to sleep with the sound of the waves at night followed by waking up with the sunrise in the morning was a special experience. My wife and I only wish we could have stayed longer. If we have a chance we will return again!
Stayed at Casa Sonrisa for over a week in Feb, excellent stay, clean and comfortable with everything you need to make yourself at home. The hosts were lovely to correspond with, and we met some fellow travellers there that were super nice and friendly as well...hoping to see them again.
Convenient location and some great food just down the street as well. Returning for 2016 for a hopefully longer stay.
Stayed at Casita Sonrisa for 8 days in January. The casita is by far the best and most comfortable accommodation we've stayed at for our caribbean vacations. Don't believe you can have a terrace any closer to the ocean. Sunrise and full moon viewings were spectacular.
Will be returning in 2016.
We spent 2 weeks at casa Sonrisa and everything was wonderful... beautiful decoration, well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed, gorgeous view on the water, and also very clean. The location is great, in a walking distance to all restaurants and beaches, and the area feels very safe. We really enjoyed the local people, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We are already looking forward to go back, hopefully next year! Thank you Cori and Pete!
We spent 11 nights at Casita Isladise--sure hated to leave! It was such a good feeling walking into the casita and seeing what we expected from the listing. But we didn't realize how much we'd appreciate the sounds of the water. The crashing waves were so mesmerizing that we spent more time "at home" than we had expected. Reading and staring at the waves from the balcony was so special. Decor was perfect for us. Almost everything was provided in the kitchen, comfortable seating and bed, splash pool for quick dips. We didn't make all of the eating places on our list--ended up with several visits to Rubens, Barlitos, and Bastos. Got take-out several times, too. We walked into centro and the Playa Norte and used taxis to go south. A highlight was seeing the first turtle release of the season. Sue from Capi's Management was right on top of some minor problems. Would I come back? YES, in a heartbeat. Would I recommend the casita to others? Only if they don't totally book it so we can't return.
This is our second stay at Carribean Casa. We love the Casa so much I doubt I will ever stay anywhere else on the Island. The new kitchen renovation is fabulous. As usual Cori is beyond helpful and always answers any questions we have promptly. We really apprecaited all the little things the Casa has to offer including the little phone to call Sue if needed. Some of the best views on the island are all visable right from your room. The hardest thing about staying here is leaving to catch the plane back home. You will not want to leave.

If you find yourself getting restless while on a 5 mile island - and feel the need to shop, explore or be around a half million other people, Cancun is only 20 minutes away for $7 on a modern high-speed ferry. There are also a multitude of day trips, from ziplining over cenotes, to exploring colonial cities and climbing world famous pyramids. Just ask us about our favorite tour operator who can set you up with an action filled daytrip! You'll be sighing with relief when you return to Isla Mujeres to relax at the end of the day.
