Hi Sue, I wanted to say thank you and let you know that we had a GREAT time at the beach. We’ve been so busy lately and dealing with life stuff, it was really rejuvenating to spend 10 days having fun together. We made bread and pasta and Parmesan cheese crackers all from scratch, we dug up about 150 clams and made fresh clam chowder. Clamming is SO easy and fun, the kids loved it! We saw a Grey Whale from the deck! It surfaced several times and spouted, then it breached straight up a few times, it was amazing! We also saw bald eagles, rabbits and several deer from the deck as well, including a mama deer with two little babies! We went sight-seeing at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, got saltwater taffy in Depot Bay and went crabbing on the Siletz Bay. We hung out at the beach most days, playing and swimming. The kids and I went boogie boarding which was like a sea roller coaster! I never knew it was so much fun. We went exploring at the cove and saw star fish, crabs and sea anemones, and collected a bunch of beautiful agates. Then we spent most nights playing cards and board games, listening to music and chatting around the huge dinner table. Anyway, I could ramble on for a while... I just wanted to say thank you again for the opportunity to stay at the beach house, it really is a wonderful place to be able to go to for a vacation.
We built the house and have loved it for 28 years, making changes, updating, and adding amenities. With our children and grandchildren, we've built--and continue to build--wonderful memories.
We know we're biased, but we do think Roads End has the most beautiful beach on the Central Oregon Coast.
