Just two minutes from downtown nashville and about 600 yards from beautiful Shelby park, the Cumberland river and a green-way offering over 50 miles of biking, our cozy 900 square foot 1930's artist's retreat is in historic Boscobel Heights in East Nashville where, on a clear night, you can see riverfront downtown fireworks from the front porch or hear the roar of the crowds during a titans game--which is less than one mile away.
Our modest (non-smoking) slice of heaven comes with a family cat--which will be watered and fed daily by manager/owner (and if your allergic or cat unfriendly this may not be the city house for you).
Less than a mile to the trendy 5-points area, we are in a charming neighborhood near coffeehouses, restaurants, clubs, a health food store and art galleries--all within walking distance and one block from city bus route.
Although technically a one bedroom, there is a main bedroom that looks out over a fenced in backyard, a meditation room and in the living room (which has skylights) and a double fold-out couch. Depending on your traveling companions the house would be comfortable for 1-3 adults. In the spirit of retreat there is internet access available and a dvd player available--but no cable tv.
Full usage of an intimate kitchen with appliances including a washer/dryer, a fenced in yard and patio and raised front porch overlooking the street. Our double carport provides two parking spaces that allow you to enter through the back fenced in yard.
As the home of a creative type, there is inspiring art and photography adorning the walls, musical instruments and whether you've had a busy day recording at the studio, sight seeing or line dancing, you'll have plenty of cozy spots to curl up in. If you are a smoker there are two comfortable outdoor patios where you can enjoy a cigarette.
If you are seeking luxury, this is probably not what you are after but if you are looking for inspired and comfortable look no further!
As a writer, filmmaker this is my little corner of heaven near downtown Nashville. As a French Canadian Yankee I've grown roots in the south and although have the urge to travel, the south is now home.
owner/property manager purchased this bungalow in 2002
Not luxurious or fancy but if you are looking for a colorful, cozy and inspiring place to take advantage of all that Nashville has to offer this could be your home for a few days. It's where I've dreamed up stories, films and the ending to the next book (:
A front porch view of downtown fireworks on the river, and a private covered patio in the backyard to wind down from your day, write a song or just watch some city birds.
This house was perfect for our trip to cma fest. It was an easy and close drive to downtown. The neighborhood was quiet which provided us perfect sleeping conditions after a long day. The owner was super nice and the house was exactly as listed. We are hoping to stay again on our next trip to nashville.
Just two minutes from downtown nashville and about 600 yards from beautiful shelby park, the cumberland river and a green-way offering over 50 miles of biking. On a clear night we can watch the downtown fireworks from the front porch and you can walk, bike or drive downtown for dancing, dining, attend a titans game or walk by the riverfront.
