Quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of town, this tropical vacation home is the perfect getaway.

Private and secluded 3br/2bath home at the end of a cul de sac in the amazingly beautiful and prestigious gated community of Kahakai Estates. Far enough from downtown to offer privacy and serenity, yet within a 5 min walk down a private bike path to the famous Ali’i drive and downtown Kailua-Kona to keep you close to the action. You will enjoy a slice of paradise in this little oasis, which offers breathtaking views of the crystal clear blue waters of the ocean from practically every window. Magnificent sunsets that set the sky on fire with a multitude of orange and red blazes can be enjoyed from the home’s private lanai while sipping on a glass of wine and grilling your fresh fish catch of the day. This home boasts three bedrooms; two of the rooms have queen beds and deluxe memory foam mattresses, and the third bedroom has two twin beds (setup as a bunk bed) and a crib with a changing table. Families vacationing with their young children will feel right at home with the onsite amenities of a crib, high chair, bouncy chair, infant bath tub, and toys. In addition, vacationers will enjoy the home’s open floor plan, a spacious kitchen with all the modern day appliances and amenities, a dining and living area equipped with a large screen TV with HD cable programming, hi-speed wifi internet, and free Netflix and Pandora streaming, accessible through the Bluray DVD player, all of which create an ideal environment for entertaining family and friends. This was our third trip to the Big Island. Year 1 we stayed in a hotel. Year 2 we stayed in a condo. This year we decided to try renting a house--it was only slightly more expensive than a condo and still cheaper than a hotel. We will never go back to a hotel or condo for an extended vacation.

If you come to Kona to sit by the pool or on the beach, this house is not for you. If you come to Kona to experience the Big Island, this house is perfect. The house is only a short walk to Ali'i Drive or a quick drive or bike ride to restaurants, farmers markets, etc. The quiet neighborhood made it easy to relax and unwind in the evenings. The garage made storing all of our rented toys (bikes, kayak, surfboards, etc.) extremely convenient (no dragging them up stairs or worrying about damaging the interior of a condo). The house was in great condition with plenty of space to accommodate a family or group.

I would definitely recommend this house as a “base camp” for a great trip to the Big Island.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for myself and my two sons. We had not been together for over a year. I felt very safe and it was very homey. We were even visited by a neighborhood cat. Can't get any better than that.
