Escape to the Berkshires and stay at this contemporary farmhouse on 10+ acres with forest, meadow, colonial stone walls and lovely towering trees. Located just 2½ hours from New York City, 12 miles form Great Barrington and less than 30 minutes to Lee/Stockbridge/Lenox.
The home is large enough at about 3,000 square feet for all your family and friends to gather, yet perfect as well for just yourself or a couple. The kitchen - dining room - and living room are open plan with light flowing in through windows on both sides of the home.
There is a large first floor master suite with a king bed and full bath ensuite. Upstairs is another bedroom with a second king bed, a twin-beeded room with twin trundle and tv with PS3 player, and a large fourth bedroom with both a queen bed and a full bed. There is a second full bath upstairs and a third full bath on the first floor.
A large deck is right off the sun room, and both front and back yards have large lawns. Nearby are several state forests and three lakes. Miles of dirt roads close by are perfect for mountain biking or exploring on foot.
We stayed during the 2013 Christmas season. It was great with kids as the back and front yards are big and it’s near the ski butternut resort and several trails. As bikers we had a great time as the area is not as busy as other areas in the Berkshires with some gain in elevation. There is also great food and groceries in Great Barrington and as the family was gathering around for the holidays, the access from Hartford (great kids Exploratorium) and the Metro-North trains were greatly appreciated.
I visited this spectacular home the week of 6/17th. The house is tucked away in the Berkshires minutes from Connecticut. I brought my family up for a week of peaceful relaxation and some trout fishing. The house is located within 20 minutes of some great trout fishing on the Farmington River. It rained a bit that week, so we stayed put at the farmhouse a couple days, so much room in the house, it has 4 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, would be great for a family re-union. We all loved the place as the amenities were more than I have seen on most of my vacations. Direct TV and another tv hooked up to a PS3 kept my boys happy. Fully equipped kitchen had all the cooking utensils as well as all appliances. The washer and dryer are also a plus. there was a large deck in the back with a gas grill for outdoor barbecuing. I would highly recommend this farmhouse and will be staying again. The owners were also very accomodating and easy to communicate with, thx for a great stay!
