Great views over LA
We have just stayed at the unit in one of the so-called "Bird Streets" off Doheny, above Sunset Strip in the hills.
The house is vast enough to comfortably accommodate 8 people, there is an extra bedroom in the backyard. The pool is nice and the kitchen is beautifully done with marble, in case you'd want to cook (although good restaurants are within a few minute's drive). Naturally you would need a car up here in the hills, so it is not an option for tourists without a car.
The view over Los Angeles is amazing, you can see Catalina Island on a clear day!
The neighborhood is secure and there is a neighborhood patrol.
In case you're interested: Vincent Price lived two houses down the road!
