REDUCED LATE SEASON RATES FOR LUXURIOUS HOME WITH BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEW & POOL

Searsport House Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

Normally $2200/week, we're now offering this vacation home for $1800/week for late August and $1600/week for September bookings. Tucked away in charming Searsport, which a century ago was the “Home of Famous Sea Captains,” is this lovely year-round vacation getaway. This gracious home offers its own private outdoor swimming pool, plus easy access to Penobscot Bay and all of the sailing, boating, kayaking, swimming and hiking opportunities that scenic Mid-Coast Maine affords.

Museums, galleries, shops and restaurants abound, and Acadia National Park is an easy day’s excursion from this central location. Living room with ping-pong table, spacious family room/sun room overlooking the pool, three-season screened porch, gas grill, and all the amenities to make this an ideal vacation getaway. The house is decorated in a pleasing pastel palette, with tiled baths, hardwood and tile floors, fully equipped kitchen, granite counter tops, and all appliances, including a washer and dryer. Beautiful Home in Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5
This home was exactly what we were looking for! The kids loved the pool outback. Adults loved that it and the house were spotless. We also loved walking down to the rocky beach at low tide to hunt for sea glass. Perfect location close enough to Camden and Bar Harbor for day trips.

What a gem!

  • 5 of 5
This house is an absolute treasure!
The pictures and description do not do it justice!
We stayed here for a week with our extended family of 6 adults and 4 children. We had ample room.
The house is beautifully decorated! It looks like it is an advertisement for Ethan Allen. Everything looks brand new. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly imagine: beautiful linen (and a beautiful change of linen), soft bath towels, large absorbent pool towels, games, DVD's, books, toys, pool toys, fully stocked kitchen, books, etc. etc.
The house is meticulously clean! Not a speck in any corner. The house looks freshly painted.
The view of Penobscot Bay is stunning!
The huge lawn stretching out to the bay is beautiful and was perfect for the children to play on.
The porch with the adirondack chairs was just one of the relaxing places to sit. There is also a nice couch near the kitchen looking at the ping pong tale, a screened in porch, lounge chairs out by the pool, a little nook with two chairs, a lamp and a table, and a sun room overlooking the pool.
Not to mention the pool!!! It is a nice size, warm, covered, and really clean. (they have someone come to service it once a week)
Basically, I highly reccomend this charming house.
If we ever return to Maine, this is where we will stay!
Thank you for a lovely vacation!

From the house, it’s just a short walk down Navy Street to the water’s edge of Penobscot Bay. Searsport, a busy international shipping port a century ago, is known for its gracious sea captains’ houses (several of which now function as inns, restaurants and B&B’s), as well as for its renowned Penobscot Marine Museum, a great place to visit on rainy days. Mosman Park, about a half-mile away on the shore of Penobscot Bay, has playground equipment, a basketball court, a large grassy field, picnic tables and grills. The Searsport town pier is just under a mile away.

A short drive southwest on Routes 1 & 3 will take you to Belfast, tour boats, the area’s movie theater, shops, galleries and restaurants, including Young’s Lobster Pound, with picnic tables where you can eat on the wharf. In nearby Northport, kayaks are available for rent. Mount Battie State Park and the scenic villages of Camden and Rockland lie farther south.

Driving a short distance northeast, you’ll find Fort Knox, the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory, Bucksport and its paper mill, and historic Castine, home of Maine Maritime Academy, with its State of Maine training ship, as well as museums, galleries and restaurants.

A little over an hour away are not-to-be-missed Acadia National Park, with spectacular vistas from Cadillac Mountain – tallest peak on the Eastern Seaboard – and many other points of interest and activities, as well as Bar Harbor, where you can book whale, seal and seabird-watching cruises. Bangor offers summer concerts and year-round casino gambling.
