You can bask in panoramic views of Monterey Bay from virtually every room in this 1-story home, called “Sea Dance,” which is located so close to the water that you literally have only to cross the street to watch the waves lapping against the rocks at your feet. The home is completely furnished with the owners' beautifully restored Mid-Century Modern Furniture.

You cannot imagine the natural beauty surrounding this 3-4 bedroom, 2-bath Pacific Grove house, just a stone's throw from a gorgeous 7-mile coastal walking trail that concludes at the Monterey Bay Aquarium at one end and Asilomar Beach at the other.

Just the drive along Ocean View Avenue to your destination will take your breath away. Pull into the driveway, park and walk a few steps to the covered porch, equipped with 2 Adirondack chairs, where you can take your morning coffee or enjoy cocktails at sunset and listen to the sounds of the gulls, barking seals and the waves lapping against the rocks while imbibing the 180-degree panorama.

The front yard is landscaped with succulents and natives -- including the renowned electric-pink succulent ground-cover that flourishes in the area -- that replicates the flora across the street along the shoreline.

The sliding-glass front door opens to the living room that features a wall of windows, hardwood floors and a brick gas fireplace. An ocean-inspired color scheme of blues and beige and handsome Mid-Century Modern teak furnishings and Asian accents can be found throughout the house. A handsome glass and teak display cabinet shows off some of the owners' collection of shells gathered from around the world.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine or sparkling cider, passes to the famous Spa on the Plaza in Monterey, tickets for a Scheid Winery tasting in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush bathrobes and oversized towels.

Relax and take in the vistas from a cozy grouping of living room furnishings that include a sand colored sofa and love seat, a teak coffee table, a sea blue patterned area rug.. Should you feel inclined to watch your favorite show or a movie, a 50” flat-screen TV is located above the fireplace so you can simultaneously enjoy a warm fire, entertainment and ocean views. A BluRay player and a video library are provided.

Just off the living room and down a step is a comfortable bonus room with a brick-colored painted floor covered by a hand-woven blue rag rug. A unique teak bench -- two chairs with cushions adjoined by a table -- is situated directly in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. It almost begs for you to sit down and gaze out at the sparkling blue waters of the bay, lose yourself in a good novel or enjoy a long, relaxing conversation with a loved one. For your convenience, a library of books, a recliner, games and a pair of binoculars is provided. This room can accommodate two aero beds. A concealed washer and dryer behind partition doors are also in this room.

A bright efficient kitchen with white cabinets and light coral tile back-splashes provides everything you need for preparing gourmet meals including a range with induction burners, refrigerator, dishwasher, lots of small appliances and up-to-date cookware.

Earth colored dishes, glassware and table linens and accoutrements allow for casual beach l entertaining. The adjacent dining room has a Mid-Century Modern teak table that can be expanded to seat 10 and even a Sputnick Chandelier.

The master bedroom features a corner window that allows stunning ocean views from two sides. A California King bed is fitted with luxury linens, Zen style coverlet and duvet covers is positioned to take full advantage of the gorgeous water views out the two corner windows. The picture is completed with a teak book shelving filled with Asian accessories, books and seashells, a teak dresser, 2 teak bedside tables, a double closet with mirrored doors and art. The master bathroom has a shower tiled in light gray with colorful towels to coordinate. You'll feel pampered by the plush towels and spa amenities.

A second bedroom to the front of the house, also with ocean views, is decorated in coral and sand tones and features a queen bed with luxury linens, an ivory coverlet and Pottery Barn sea inspired duvet cover, a Mid-Century Modern teak bed frame, dresser and 2 bedside tables with lamps. A second bathroom, with coordinating colors of coral as well, has a bath with shower, plush white towels and spa amenities.

A third bedroom, also Mid-Century Modern, has 2 twins with teak bed frames that can be converted to a king with Memory Foam topper with sand coverlet and Ocean Blue duvet comforters and coastal pillows for accents. A second TV is located on a teak dresser.

An outside area at the rear of the home is completely fenced and features an outside hose to wash your feet off from the beach and areas to hand wet towels and beach items.

Another area that can be accessed from the back yard or side has a large eating table, 6 chairs and umbrella with Ocean views and landscaping. There is a gas grill for eating al fresco and this area is wind protected.

One car can be parked in the single car garage where you can also find everything you need for outings to the beach -- chairs, umbrella, towels, blankets, cooler, plastic plates, glasses and even a Frisbee.

This is an excellent house for anyone who has trouble negotiating stairs. There are only a couple of steps up from the driveway to the porch and the front entrance and the garage connects with the family room. Every room is on the same level except the family room, which has one step.

Wonderful Getaway with Stunning Ocean Views

We celebrated a special birthday with 3 nights at Sea Dance. There is a stunning ocean view from the main room, with floor to ceiling windows. 2 of the 3 bedrooms also have amazing views. Everything is set up for you, including a welcome cheese plate and a bottle of wine. Kim, our hostess, was extremely helpful and went out of her way to accommodate our every request. This home is ideal for a family or friends, with a terrific kitchen, sweet patio, bbq grill, and lots of lounging space. With the ocean across the street and a walking path that takes you all of the way to the Monterey Bay Aquarium at your service, it's an idyllic location for whatever you want to do. Don't miss this chance to live the good life for a few days rest.

Whale sightings everyday!

Tom and I totally enjoyed our 10 day stay at Seadance. We would love to come back and stay a month! We saw whales right off the front of the house, and of course many otters everyday. I loved painting here in Pacific Grove and Point Lobos. Pacific Grove is so beautiful and peaceful. We'll be back! Also, I was very impressed with how clean this house was! We've never rented a house that was so well maintained.

Sensational location on Ocean View Blvd. with panoramic views of Monterey Bay from almost every room. Comfortable, spacious, with great kitchen facilities.

After exploring the area each day, it was a treat to come "home" to Sea Dance.

Thank you, Kim [our House Manager], for going above and beyond to meet our many requests. We particularly appreciated your kindness with our medical needs and the unexpected bouquet of daffodils after a tough day.

We hope to return some day.

We loved everything about our stay at this beach house. The views are incredible but the small details by the owners made it so enjoyable. From the wine & cheese greeting to the robes in the room and also plenty of toys and games for the little one, we had a great time. Thanks again!

Car: recommended

Pacific Grove is home of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the main entrance to 17-Mile Drive. Within this charming city, known for its old-fashioned, friendly downtown and colorful historic Victorian homes, are spectacular vistas and recreational opportunities. Surfing is ideal at Asilomar State Beach. Kayaking and scuba diving allow you to visit with playful otters. Tide pooling for the nature enthusiast is available at several beaches. A walk or bike ride along the shoreline recreation trail offers breathtaking views of paradise.

Visit the Museum of Natural History, Point Pinos Light-house, tour Asilomar State Park, or enjoy the Sunset anywhere between Lovers Point Park and Asilomar Beach. Pacific Grove is known as Butterfly Town U.S.A. since every October the Monarchs migrate to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary where they winter until February. Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course is the top rated municipal golf in the state with over 70,000 rounds played annually. It is referred to as poor man's Pebble Beach due to its proximity and resemblance of Pebble Beach courses.

Enjoy a walking tour of downtown Pacific Grove. The town had its beginning in 1875 as a summer Methodist camp where several hundreds assembled to worship amidst rough tents. Tour brochures are available at the Chamber.

Pacific Grove's Past:

The town had its beginning in 1875 as a summer Methodist camp, where several hundred people assembled to worship amidst rough tents. In time, the fragrant pines and fresh sea air brought others to the Pacific Grove Retreat to rest and meditate. The first camp meeting of the Pacific Coast branch of the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle was held here in June 1879. Fashioned after the Methodist Sunday school teachers' training camp established in 1874 at Lake Chautauqua, N.Y., this location became part of a nation-wide educational/cultural network.

In November 1879, after the summer campers returned home, Robert Louis Stevenson wandered into the deserted campgrounds: I have never been in any place so dreamlike. Indeed, it was not so much like a deserted town as like a scene upon the stage by daylight, and with no one on the boards -- from 'The Old Pacific Capitol'

By 1889, the resort was incorporated, becoming the City of Pacific Grove. The last P.G. Chautauqua was held in August 1926.

Monterey Peninsula info:

The Monterey Peninsula is unique in its combination of breathtaking natural resources and a multiplicity of cultural and entertainment possibilities. You can find something for every possible taste. For nature lovers, there is the diversity of mountain and sea, for picnicking, surfing, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, beachcombing, bird-watching, kayaking, scuba diving, tidepooling, biking and more. If you want a man-made excitement, we have art galleries galore, excellent fine-art museums, local theater, outstanding restaurants, boutiques, a natural history and a children's museum, a world-class aquarium, and that's just for starters. History buffs will have a field day exploring the adobes of Monterey. There's so much to do that you cannot possibly do it all in one visit, which means you will have to come back!
